I think we all agree here ;)

Ahhh changing your tune once you realised how unpopular your opinion was

We're Tiger supporters mate - we can tell when someone is trying to spin themselves out of trouble.
Not changing my opinion at all, if it was me I wouldn't play Richo give him another week off and get him back fully fit for games against the Lions, Cats and Hawks to come when they will need him, but if the club deems him fit to play then he plays who am I to stop them.

But as has been mentioned already, Wallace has already cast doubts over Richo playing so my opinion seems to be fairly valid at this point in time.

My view hasn't changed at all, still think we will be a better side once Richo hangs them up, whether thats in 18 months or 30 months time who knows. However, while he is still part of the best current 22, then we should give him the time to get over his injury and come back into the side when he is fully fit and not before then. Same thing we have done with every other player on the list.

the short answer to this RT is I bet the ESS brainstrust sure as #@#$ hope he doesnt play, what does that tell you:eek:

It tells me that they are underestimating the rest of the side then. ;)

Tambling probably has the biggest "nothing" game of any of our players but will probably get pick anyway.

If Thurstfield is fit, which I don't reckon he will be, McGuane will come out even though he beat kennedy because Schultz had a better game.

Conners/Polo/Edwards will probably be dropped for Richo. All of them had pretty good games, but unfortunatly it's the Cho'.

I can't see Kingy getting back in the team straight away and I wouldn't imagine after yesterday's thumping any Coburg players will be called up

DO NOT DROP HUGHES TERRY!

Stop living in the past and start looking to the future. It is time to stop relying on Richo to be the one who delivers and put the acid on others to step up and deliver for the side. Show some confidence in Hughes, Riewoldt, Morton who combined for 9 goals between them.

Imagine how much more confident those 3 would become if Wallace was to say to them we're playing you 3 next week against the Bombers and they stepped up and won the game for us. Imagine how much confidence the team would have in them if that happened.

As I said in another thread the time has come to start finding out if the young players are able to stand up and deliver for this club. We aren't going to find out if they are, if we're still relying on Richo to be the one who steps up when a big game needs to be won.

I say pick the best team possible and if that means Richo comes in then so be it. We can pick a team for the future once we are mathematically out of the running for the finals.

I'd say one of the smalls is gonna have to make way anyway (remember, Richo is a wingman! Swapping out a tall for a wingman would leave us 'short' somewhere else). Presumably the small we drop will be named as an emergency in case it rains.

I watched the game on sunday and I though ALL 22 players contributed. there were no passengers and some players probably had their best game for the club so far.

However if Richo and Thursfield are fully fit to come back, then they will.

2 players have to make way even if they are a bit stiff.

IN Richo
IN Thursfeild

OUT Connors
OUT McGuane

yeh it stiff for these two guys but they will have other chances.

go tiges!

Richo - Schulz
Thursfield - Mcguane/Connors/Edwards

Wouldnt be suprised to see us lose a runner for a tall
cant play at Subi every week

McGuane has done enough to keep his spot this week! Very serviceable game against the Eagles and we'll probably require an extra tall against the Bomber forwards on Sat!

McGuane did very well on Kennedy yesterday. However, if Thurstfield is back, McGuane will go back to Coburg. We can't play Thurstfield, Schultz, Moore, McGuane and Bowden in the same team. Way too tall, esspecially considering Essendon's midfield pace

Hey guys, wondering who you think would match up on our forwards with polak out?

Possibly lining up:
HF: McPhee (189cm), Lucas (192cm), Monfries (183cm)
FF: Lloyd (192cm), Neagle (190cm), Laycock (201cm)

If that was your starting forward line setup, I'd suggest we would have a field day running the ball out of the backline.

DOES anyone really think Edwards would be a contender to be dropped, given his game was clearly quite good yesterday (19 possessions, 10 of them contested, four clearances, one goal) and it was only little over a month ago that he played his best game at senior level, v the Bombers in the Dreamtime Game. Could quite easily have kicked six or seven goals that night had he had the kicking boots on.
He's going nowhere!!!!

Really doubt that your forward setup will look anything like that, but i'd suggest with McGuane, Moore, Schulz, Bowden and the possibility of Thursfield returning we'll be able to cover your tall forwards.

More importantly, how are they gonna match up against the run of Newman and McMahon?

Excellent, I would love if you did that and didnt have Jetta anywhere in the forward line. :thumbsu:
