Just carrying on from a thread on the main board.

The idea was to try and make up a team of players that were ex-your team.

What I have found so far is...

F
HF Williams White Gehrig
C Schofield Stone
HB
FB

Ruck Ball Burton

I know Burton only played preseason but he was on our list.

What this really says is that we don't lose too many players to other sides.

Mitchell White has retired, so that means that there are only 6 active EX Eagles in the competition.

Leads me to believe that Judd will stay.

Stone? If you can tell me where Stone is playing, you are a smarter man than I. He is well gone mate, hasn't played since 2000. You might be talking about the Nick Stone that plays for Hawthorn... different players.

If we include Burton, then we also have to add Ben Robbins (now at the Kangaroos, via Brisbane) who was on our list in '94 & '95 but never played a game.

Also, who's this Stone character ? Our Nick Stone finished up in 2000, and is most definitely NOT the same person as Hawthorn's Nick Stone.

Of course, it all makes sense. Why don't you email this to the Melbourne media. It's not as if they would pi55 themselves with laughter.

If we're including players that have since retired like Turley and Clape then also add

Brendan Krummell
David Hynes
Tony Godden (damn it was good to trade with Freo in the early days!)

And if we really want to go back a bit
John Gastev
Alex Ischenko
Darren Bennett
Stevan Jackson
Geoff Miles
I'm sure there's more out there too...

Dean Laidley - couldn't get in our (brilliant) side and went on to win a Premiership with North. Now a successful coach at the same club.

Jason Heatley - didn't quite grasp his Eagles AFL opportunities, although looked excellent in the WAFL. Went on to play 50 or so games at St Kilda and did play in a losing Grand Final side.

But these are the exceptions - we don't let good talent go very often and players often disappear from the game completely after the disappointment of not making it with the greatest club.:D

Heatley now resides in Tassie and plays with the local VFL side.
