Who is the biggest spud we've ever drafted?

Trent Carroll wins this thread hands down. He would bring ppl to the ground just to see how terrible he is. In his last dismal season for the club in 2004 he produced 8 games for 74 disposals. Guaranteed 80% of these disposals were clangers. During these games the team managed a 3-5 win loss ratio.
What was more impressive was his amazing ability to give condede stupid free kicks that often resulted in opposition goals. His free kick count in these games 7-13 (Career 63-86).

His career reminds us how bad things can be when your full back is of this calibre and how we are so fortunate to have such a reliable, consistent fullback such as glassy who you can trust with the ball in his hands.

Nathan McIntosh, was on the list in 1992, maybe 93 too but not beyond that. May have even been his older brother IIRC.
I can't find any mention of him Not mentioned in any of the draft lists between 1990 and 1993 that I can find. Shouldn't he have been a "father/son" selection (like Ashley)? If so he isn't mentioned in there either.

Doesn't say how he was drafted however, he's 4 years older then Ash

couldnt agree with you less porxxy...trent carroll was one of the most underrated defenders to ever play a game for west coast. his skill and determination made him a first choice every week. i am assuming here that you are some sort of band-wagon hopper, and failed to follow the enigmatic trent carroll right through his carreer. you sound like the sort of person who would support leeds for years, only to jump ship to the big spending chelsea once they were relegated

Pretty sure he was Ashley's brother and all the rumour of the time was that he was more talented than Ashley, but a little less motivated, shall we say.

Been doing some more thinking and Black JuJu, I reckon I have a worthy contender for your Brendan Retzlaff worst player award. Robbie West. How he even got a second chance at Footscray makes me shake my head in wonderment!

Robbie West was a handy state level player, he won a Sandover IIRC and played good footy for Port in the SANFL too (before nearly dying after having the living suitcase beaten out of him outside a nightclub).

He was no AFL player though. But still, better than Retzlaff. ;)

Yes, he won the Sandover, but I will keep my opinion on that to myself. Retzlaff won a Simpson, IIRC, and was a very good player for Swans. He was picked up by Brisbane first, I believe. So also a handy state level player.

The point is, these type of soft, running players that collect a heap of the ball always attract the scouts, they still do. Just look at Ben Sharp recently, just to name one of probably any number. They just can't attract as much of the ball at the elite level because there are far more contests, something they generally don't like.

Not sure about his footballing abilities or who he is.... But this bloke looks like the biggest spud hands down. lol

It's Nathan McIntosh, you could have clicked the link i posted to find that out :D
