Yeah it's bizarre that no SD or WC coaching/medical staff ever figured it out and he was able to hide it from everyone.
There were rumours that the AFL knew and some clubs excluding us caught wind of it.
Wasn't there also non footy related issues?

Its got the best weather and lifestyle but I do wonder what the insane housing market has done for players considering a move west, for a young fringe player they'd be no chance of breaking into the housing market on an afl basic wage. Kinda crazy, few years ago it'd of been a smart move coming over here and setting up shop but nowadays might as well just continue to rent in Melbourne.

Or they live rent free at a host family for a year.

What part of the country doesn't have stupid home prices?

Geelong and Tasmania.

An 18 yr old starting on $90k is pretty decent compared to every other kid.

The HUN did a phantom today and had us taking Lindsay.

It also states that we are looking to trade back up the draft board.

Interesting take - TT is going out with the sister of Tom Cole's wife!!

Should come with a trigger warning ⚠️

Why. We bent the Hawks over the barrel with what we got for Barrass. Pretty much the Hawks entire original 2025 draft hand round 1, 2 and 3.

If the Hawks do a Crows and stumble a tad in 2025 it will be a huge win. If we even still hold those picks.

It somewhat made up for the overs we paid for Baker.

Think I'd rather take all our existing picks to the draft, than do any more business with Richmond.

We already bent over backwards to get them "fair" compensation for Baker.

If our preferred target is available at Richmonds picks, they should let him slide to us.

Might have to get Phil to lock Clarke in the toilet on Draft night 🤞

Blues gave up F1 and F2 for 14.

This is the premium for being in 2024 and not 2025 drafts.

It is viewed by many as line ball as to Blues or Hawks Future picks are better. You could mount a case on both being better to hold. For this discussion, let's call them even. Therefore we really only got the pick 14 plus F3 with F4 going back for Barrass. I do not call that getting them over the barrel. They had supposedly offered 14 and F2 for Barrass.

Don't get me wrong, the hand for 2025 looks great.

I'm sorry but if we sink even more draft capital into this draft for the sake of a single pick back, ie our first and a F2/3 for a single pick, say pick 8, I'm calling for this recruiting teams collective heads and I'm probably somewhere near the top of the TT fan club.

With the names going in the 20-30 range of this draft we should be looking to gain a greater number of picks in this draft not overpaying for a single higher pick because we overpaid with the currency from already trading out our high pick.

Jesus.

That trade really has nothing to do with the final Barrass trade other than the Hawks tried to be clever and traded out a pick that should have been involved. It wasn't in the end. So they did a separate pick swap deal entirely. None of those picks were involved with the Barrass deal.

Hawks handed over 2025 1st 2nd and 3rd rounders with a 4th going back.

For a 29 year old fullback with back issues.

I'd be spewing if we paid that.

Whether or not the Barrass deal is good or bad will be entirely based on where the Hawks finish next season.

Many clubs held the view that future second and third round picks held little value due to the compromised nature of next year's draft, especially when lined up to those same picks in this years draft.

And the upside for us now is that the second favourite for the flag next year may slide and these picks become worth something.

I don't think it's anywhere near as bad for Hawthorn as you're making it seem.

Phantom draft from SEN. The draft experts still haven't decided who is the number 1 !!??
He does not have a good network and his track record in predicting has not been particularly accurate in the past
