Not necessarily true..... Monkey played CHF in the '92 GF while Ash played FB which is, basically where he stayed from then on. He would have been 20 in 92.

Sorry Mickey, might sound like pedantics, but Monkey played fullback on Ablett in 94 & did a grand job whenever the ball came down there, (which, admittedly, wasn't a lot....to my great enjoyment sitting next to my Cat's supporting mate! Glory days!)

He certainly did play on Ablett that day and, if my memory serves me correctly, it was Ablett's birthday and he didn't kick a gaol. I'm not sure that he played FF though. I reckon Brownless was at FF. He kicked 3 on Ash that day. Billy was at his peak then and I seriously doubt that Monkey would have had the height or strength to keep him to 3. I too was there .... it was great to be able to relax for the last quarter as the game was well and truly over at 3/4 time!
