The archetype Gary Pratt, Harper pioneered the gun fielder as a sub while your bowlers have a breather.
Ha ha this is literally the blurb from Gary Pratt's wikipedia page

"He is best known for running out Australia captain Ricky Ponting having come on as a substitute fielder in the fourth Test of England's 2–1 series victory in the 2005 Ashes."

Carl Hooper.

Some of his slips catching was amazing and I lost count of the the number of caught and bowled's he took - some of which were cannoned back at him. Had incredible soft hands.

Doubt that there has been a better fielder off of his own bowling than Carl...

Alan Border. That baseball arm, throwing the stumps down from midwicket, etched in my memory.

Mark Taylor. Most reliable first slip I ever saw. Better than both the Chappels, which was such a high bar already.

I'm going to put a call out to a line of Australian fast bowlers who patrolled fine leg with incredible aplomb since the 70s.

Thompson was sensational there until his shoulder. Mervyn Hughes did extremely well for a big guy, and Geoff Lawson was very good too. Mcgrath is probably the one for mine, probably recency bias but that catch is up there with the best ever. More recently, I have been a fan of Starc's whole hearted efforts there.

Probably missed a few there, but wanted to call them out, as they may not make many people's lists.
Brett Lee had a rocket arm from the outfield as well.

Early in his career, Lloyd was an outstanding cover/point fielder. He was considered particularly athletic for his large frame (6ft,4in)... hence his nickname 'Supercat'. He only moved to slip later in his career.
Think he badly injured a knee fielding in a game, hence the permanent move into the slips if I recall.

While we're on the Windies, Clive Lloyd at first slip. Awesome.
That slip cordon over a number of years (Lloyd; Richards; Greenidge; Richardson; Hooper and Logie / Harper in the gully) hardly ever missed any chances.

They were unbelievable.

Personally, I don't think there has ever been a better test cricket team in the history of the game than the Windies in the 1980's / early 1990's.
