I'm going to go against the trend and say Tucky. Skinny, unfashionable, less flashy. To me, ultimately footy is a TEAM game, and other Hawks have slightly superior individual records, but Tuck's team record is untouchable. By anyone, not just Hawk players. In the pantheon of great Hawks, I believe he is a little underrated. But check the record:

Michael Tuck holds a number of VFL/AFL games records. These are:

  • Most senior games: 426 for Hawthorn
  • Most finals games: 39
  • Most grand finals played in: 11
  • Most premiership wins: 7
Like I said, cannot be touched. By anyone, ever.

Who's yours?

Good question!

Current player: Jordan Lewis... Gunston a possible future fav. Goo was equal fav until his retirement.

Past players: Buckenara, Brereton, Tuck, Knights. There were so many greats that it's hard to single one out. I could possibly throw Buddy in there.

I know I'm probably missing someone!

Edit: This bloke too. Not sure I can split them but Hodge may now be in front. Great options either way.

Dunstall

As in that song by the Music men - "lead out, chest mark, kick a goal, lead out chest mark kick another goal"
And then all he has achieved for the club post playing career - not least getting Clarko for coach.
