Way too many

As Joylon Keeble did not get a senior game I am persuaded to way to say Austin McCrabb (always remember him being singled out be Malcolm Blight against us and then later doning the colours).

Also loved Matthew Bourke as he could take a grab but would have to agree with a prevous post that it's the Freak, Jamie Morrissey

But if I had to settle on just one - Gary Buckenara.
I've already picked Platten but jeez, how good was Buckenara. He kicked 7 won day against the big V playing for WA, including the winning goal which would have been goal of the year.....just a joy to watch, big time game breaking superstar

Judging by the other thread... I reckon if we did this thread again in 5 years, big Shem Tatapu might be getting a few nominations... :D

Ease up turbo. Can the 'Bro' make it through the preseason without every Buddy groupie jumping on his band wagon and putting unnecessary pressure on him. The lure of home is going to be big for this young man and Polynesians do feel withdrawals from family more than Anglo-Saxons.

Shem you could be anything, show us what you're made of.

childhood idol was always the Kid. Had everything: charisma, big-game player, could take a speccy, mongrel who did stuff like running through the entire Essendon huddle, and took as many hits as he dished out. Absolute champion of the club, and never a dull moment when Dermie was around

As a wee tacker I loved the show pony Derm.
Then it was all rats, dipper, langford and tuck. Don't make me choose!!
Then Chance and Crawf.
Now poppy, breust and Mitch. Poppy probably by a nose, I just love the way he throws everything at it.

Without a doubt the big fella in the 23 jumper....

Thommo!
Actually named a budgie after him!

Always loved Langers as well. Always managed to clumsily land with both knees between the numbers of his opponent after they took a mark on the lead.

You can't have one, but we will use numbers on jumpers as a way to determine.

1994-2008: Shane Crawford

2009-2011: Luke Hodge

2011-2013: Paul Puopolo

2013-2013: Luke Bruest

Using this way to determine, mine have been

My first few guernseys had no number. Then I won a Shane Crawford jumper on a lucky wheel spin at a hawks family day. So..

Shane Crawford
Campbell Brown
Luke Hodge
Jordan Lewis

Favorite player though is still Dunstall. (and Nick Holland)

Garry Moss

Haha I remember how overrated he was on these boards back in 09-10. He was such a limited footballer but some posters really thought he would become a star  . Still he managed to play a few games for us so he's doing better then I did haha.

"The kid" - Derm playing gave hawks fans a belief we were to win every time.
Could turn a game on its head through his desire to lead and inspire...
Would love another one like him playing out there...

Yeah I had the number 11 on my back and still love the goal after the siren in the Preliminary final at VFL park in 87...what a kick....what a cool head Bucky.......I was so upset when he did his knee in the 83 grand final and I was one of the 100 odd thousand that was there

Being an interstater (WA) until the late 80's I didn't go to many games, so only saw hightlights. After going to tonnes of games 87 thru 91 I find it hard to decide on a favourite out of Buckenara, Platten, Dipper, Dunstall, Tuck, Brereton.

But if I had to pick it would be Dermie.

Since then I'd have to add in Crawf.

Just a bit too young to appreciate: Lethal
Back in the day: Derm
Present day: Hodgey
Yet to see play: Hallahan

Honerable notable mentions to Dunstall, Langers & Crawf

Well, up until a few weeks ago, it was a bit of a toss up between 2x number 23's, 2 x number 9s, a number 44 and a number 24.

That's now been narrowed down to 1x 23 though. Think it's probably Platten in the lead for me.

Tony Woods!!!

Haha, no, Derm. I loved him as a kid. I loved how he dished it out and took no shit!!! Dunstall a very close second. If it got near him, he either marked or assisted someone. And a dead eye dick!! (I Think Gunner is going to be exactly like Jase)
