As we can get him cheap, great, love a bargain.

Haven't heard allot about this Perris fellow, but all the excitement about him , is making me excited.

However as previously mentioned, he is in line to be a top 20 pick. Being top 20, u have a very strong chance of playing senior footy that year. Could he say to the swans " I don't want to be a rookie and potentially sit out a year "???

We can't rookie list him if anyone else wants him. It is a bidding process like father/son picks.

Still half a season for the boys off contract to play themselves into a contract.....too early. All I can say right now is that:

____________

Retire:
Mattner
Bolton (I thin he could still play, but I want him to leave on top in the ones)

Rookie Upgrade:
Rampe

____________

I think Richards and jack jr will give be another year on the rookie list, elevated the year after if they continue to play well. We do not have to rush them and Richards still needs more development and would need a couple of injuries to get a game.

I hope shaw will be back, at least for next year :) so I am not going to discuss that, and No way will LRT retire!!!!!

So as rookie upgrades count as a list change, we would only need to delist min 1 player/or trade.

We had a massive cleanout last year, the biggest of any premiers so unless players want opportunities we wont be clearing out a large number of players. We need depth to stay at the top and players like white pushing mumford, pyke, reid etc.... to bring out their best performances.

I reckon dogs might try and get Jed Lamb, similar to how the dogs got Koby Stevens from West Coast. he was for pick 44. SO a early third rounder.
Can't seem him getting a game in the swans midfield. Espcially since Tom Mitchell has pretty much cemented a spot in the starting 22.

Pretty sure a few other melbourne clubs like North, saints, richmond and possibly carlton may have a sniff around him.

SO what do you think it would take to get him. 2nd round pick, third round?
Melbourne will go after any player. I believe Richmond are set for midfielders, and Carlton will make a huge play for Thomas and most likely get him. Saints need extra help though. So really its Melbourne, Dogs, Saints, and to a lesser extent, north
and if you sum him up in more depth that what I know, that would be great aswell.

Daisy will be a FA so still chance Carlton may make a play same as North Melbourne.

Pretty much Jed Came to the club as a one way medium forward with elite disposal by foot. Swans wanted more from him so put him on ball and since his tank has improved and thrived. Eh can play inside and outside and can snare a goal. Been racking up a fair bit of the ball and when has it generally hits up a target. Pretty sure in most other mids he'd be getting a run but due to our current riches he is on the outer. In most people's opinions he is next off the rank if anyone gets injured/rested at the moment

As to value, it really depends as to what our trade period turns out. I think that at most there has to be 3 list changes and this includes rookie elevations? So if that's the case Mattner has retired, Bolton looks like retiring, White and Lamb may go. That leaves in my opinion, at most 3 spots depending if we then decided to elevate another rookie aka X Richards IMO would be a good one to elevate due to our lack of KPD's. So leaves us with probably 2 live picks this draft. I'd be hoping for a pick upgrade of our second rounder or another second rounder at around the 30-35 mark. Your 3rd pick seems a bit late eg early 40ish.

Personally don't want him to go as I expect that if Bolton or/and another of our older brigade retires he'll be in

Fair enough. Seems like a reasonably good player. If last year has anything to go by, Dogs won't trade a pick in the first 2 rounds, unless it is for an elite player. We snared Lower for free as a delisted free agent, Koby Stevens for pick 44 and Tom Young for pick 70. I reckon around pick 40 would what the dogs would trade for a player who is on the outer. Nothing higher. But if he is the player that looks to take over from Bolton, then be fair enough to keep him.
We have Wallis struggling to get a game, but is someone dogs don't want to lose. Need good team balance, regardless of how good a player is

I would not be surprised if a team like the Dogs, Saints or Lions went after Jesse White as he would definitely be worth the risk for all 3 sides as all 3 are desperate for a key forward. I don't want Jesse to go but he may go for better opportunities.

iirc Perris was playing seniors when he was 14 for St George? I think there is some footage on youtube of him toweling up blokes twice his age, I remember checking him out a couple of years ago.

Unless his development has plateaued he'll be rookie listed no problems.

For his own good he really has to go unfortunately.

He is at his physical peak now and if he is to make a career out of playing AFL he needs to be in the starting 22 and sadly this wont happen if he stays at Sydney.
His cameo's at the moment are his best chance to show he has what it takes to get another club to recruit him so he can have a real shot at a career rather than just a bit part player.

I can imagine Jude going bananas about the idea of being rested. End up tackling the interchange gate umpire after rampaging through a kick to kick held outside the group by opposition supporters.

But a three game rest for the port/carlton/Melbourne game wouldn't be a bad idea for Jude. Then go nuts the last 10 weeks
Carlton maybe not but I wouldn't be surprised to see some players managed over the next 4 or so weeks, ensuring that they're physically capable to play the run in & finals. Less pressure on Reid, Jetta & Shaw now that the team has settled. We'll probably see a player rested each week right up until the last 3-4 matches of the year just making sure they're ripe & ready to go.

Dogs could get some good players from the Swans at the end of the year. They took Vespremi off our hands a few years back, but that always came with a buyers beware warning. At least Lamb looks like he can play and White can play just needs time to prove it.

Anyone thinking that the Dogs might give up a 2nd & 4th round picks for White & Lamb + Swans 3rd round?

Agreed. 2nd and 4th rounder for Lamb and White seems very fair to me.
I reckon crameri will be priority. Then gumby. If that fails, dogs will go after white and lamb.
Even though a second and 4th rounder for them sounds fair, I can't see dogs going up a second rounder invoked in 2 fridge players. The third rounder in return may help. But a dogs 4th rounder and swans 3rd round are basically almost the same pick if swans become premiers and dogs fizzle out near the bottom.
Can definitely see dogs going after white and lamb. Especially lamb

If throwing in a 3rd rounder was enough to get the trade over the line then i wouldn't have problem with it. It would only be an upgrade of 5 or so picks for the Bulldogs? Bit of a crabshoot when you start going that far back anyway.

Would not trade Lamb unless he requests it, he is too good for our reserves but is a mid/forward where we have the most depth and will still be 21 at the start of next year. Bolton imo will likely retire at the end of this year and could prove the perfect position for Lamb to play with the possability of rotating through the midfield. we should convince Jed its his position to win or we could lose him for very little and i believe we would regret it.

If Mumford leaves we will need to keep White or find a ruckman with experience as cover for Pyke however if we keep Mumford White would need to leave for the sake of his career. He just cant stand still waiting for things to change this late in his career.

I think the club would be looking to keep lamb. Unless he requests a trade, hel be at the club. I except him to get some more opportunities in the second half of they year. Jude will get rested at some stage, Morton will find himself out of the team at some stage, rampe will probably get a rest at some stage. Plenty of opportunity for him to get some experience , learn what it's all about and come back bigger and better next year to fill Jude's spot

It's too early.

If I had to pick now, Mattner has already retired, and Armstrong and White may be the ones to move on.

We need to look for key backmen in the draft.

I'd give LRT and Jude another year for sure.

We won't tinker too much.
As for Walsh, the guy was on the fringe of the senior team & a tad unlucky that night he tore his hammy.
He will stay because Jesse will be picked up this time around after being on show the other night.

He will be a good fit at Collingwood.
