Banter Carlton is better in 2024. Who will be better in 2025? Carlton or Collingwood? Part 3

Banter threads are not to be taken too seriously. Have fun. Let others have fun.

I suppose a good team would have sealed it earlier, not relying on one wayward kick to give them the win.
A good team would actually win.

The better team between Collingwood and Carlton, def aint the team who found themselves 5 goals down early in Q4, after already losing earlier in the year, in a game that was crucial to finals aspirations for both teams.

Fans of the better team in 2024 got to sing good old Collingwood forever twice at the G, whilst the Blueshakers scurried out losers again, anothet season where they were unable to be better than the Pies.

Top4 isnt decided yet!?

There is little difference between Geelong currently (4th) and Brisbane currently (5th), again trying to group by ladder position ia a nonsense approach that adds no value.

Getting Geelong twice v Brisbane twice isn't the same as getting Richmond twice or Melbourne twice.

Avg out the % of double ups, or use avg/total wins to get a decent reflection of respective difficulty of return fixtures.

No, top 4 isn’t decided yet.

But I would be pretty shocked if Geelong can’t beat West Coast to secure 4th. :p

I think most of what is posted in here is nonsense. Hence the “banter” thingy. :D

Blues are deeply feared at the G in September.
Currently have the longest unbroken winning streak of finals at the G.

Have won the last 5 finals at the G and not lost a final there since 2001.

Hawks revenge in the elimination final where we’ll see how excitable kids go against a battle hardened finals outfit with a point to prove.
Hahahahahahaha

Bragging about playing 4 finals at the MCG since 2001!!

LMFAO

You're joking aren't you?

What you get is exactly how they operate.

'You're an ignorant, inaccurate troll!'

'Feel free to correct me if I am wrong....'

Current ladder position shows your views are wrong. If Carlton finish above Colingwood after next week then we are better in season 2024. If you finish above us then you are the better team.

Couldnt be more simple really

Funniest thing about this H2H stuff is where was it at the start of the year? When Pies were on top of the Blues all I saw were fans in joy about how they were better because they were 6 spots ahead on the ladder (even though the gap was 2 points). Then as soon as Carlton jumped ahead its all about H2H now. The goalposts are dancing

If the thread was "who out of Collingwood or Carlton will finish higher on the ladder" would agree.

But the Blue fans moved the goal posts last year, and created pretend ladders.

Hang on.....

Do Geelong 'secure 4th' by beating West Coast on the weekend?

Finals results don't change the ladder positions?

When will you guys stop tying yourselves in knots?

Scritchyscroony

Fadge

Having a go at Melbourne for bowing out of the finals last year in straight sets, but you guys didn't even make finals. Stay in your lane.

Despite all the giftings of Daicos x 2, Moore and Quaynor as an NGA you still couldn't make the 8.. Come on now!

Get into em danny

That would indeed be the way the simple person would assess it.

In the same way a simple person would say the horse carrying 54 kg and had the dream rails run was better than the horse it beat by half length who was carrying 59 kg and was 3 wide for the entire race.

'Pretend ladders', that no longer exist.

Because we've now been told that Geelong secure their top 4 spot with a win over West Coast on the weekend...

Blues fans got to sing their team song more than Pies over the whole season, there lies your answer.

When baggers fans sing ‘we’re the team that’ll never let you down’, do all the times that the baggers have in fact consistently let you down flash before your eyes like a ptsd trance.

Those games against Melbourne and Collingwood a few seasons ago come to mind. Or the prelim from 5 goals up.

They didn't let us down up in Brisbane in round 1 and they didn't let us down over in WA with half a team yesterday.

Good analogy attempt Fadgey. 👍 Except we beat them in the head to heads.
It works well for explaining why they're a whopping one win ahead of us on the ladder though.

Have some respect, it’s round 0

Hey Collingwood flogs all you need to do to make the finals is to beat Melbourne by about ten goals, or hope that the Saints beat us by ten goals.

You have two hopes here hope or Bob Hope and i reckon it's the latter and not the former!:laughv1:

Amazing what a very solid win over the 16th placed team does for confidence levels.

All the braggadocio and irrational hubris which had evaporated over the past 6 weeks as the Blues were in free fall, has certainly come flooding back with a vengeance.

One would have thought that after nearly 30 years of irrelevance, Blues posters would have acquired a modicum of humility and caution. But alas, all the arrogance and boastfulness has clearly just been lurking under the surface for all these years, just waiting to be unleashed.

Barring a Bob Hope miracle your year is over! :laughv1:
