You have respect our team song is the best or at least better than the Pies.

It’s the tier below the tigers and gws song but yes better than the pies song which I can’t even recall how it goes it’s that unmemorable. I at least know the words to the baggers song.

A good team would actually win.

The better team between Collingwood and Carlton, def aint the team who found themselves 5 goals down early in Q4, after already losing earlier in the year, in a game that was crucial to finals aspirations for both teams.

Fans of the better team in 2024 got to sing good old Collingwood forever twice at the G, whilst the Blueshakers scurried out losers again, anothet season where they were unable to be better than the Pies.
Will you change your tune after we've hopefully booked that finals spot?

Blues fans got to sing their team song more than Pies over the whole season, there lies your answer.
You didnt get to sing it against the Pies, if which is fairly important when considering who is the better team of the two.

Nobody cares how many times you got to sing it against North or the toothless Tigers.

Congrats to Carlton for finishing the season higher on the ladder than us. We botched our season, can't hide from that and Carlton have a great opportunity to make the finals by winning their final round and having Freo bottle it to Port if not. What could possibly go wrong??
100% guaranteed that something will happen

We finish in front of Collingwood then that means we're better.

Just to remind you mate, ring the AFL if you think it's wrong

Hang on.....

Do Geelong 'secure 4th' by beating West Coast on the weekend?

Finals results don't change the ladder positions?

When will you guys stop tying yourselves in knots?

You will be less pissy when you stop nitpicking everything.

Very familiar with the ladder.

The question wasn't who will finish higher.on the ladder.

It was who will be better.

Who was better in 2023, Melbourne or Carlton? I know which team finished higher on the ladder.
Did the Pies beat Geelong or Essendon, and going back to 2023 i think we beat Melbourne twice in 4 weeks.

Short of 2 100point margins next weekend the thread should be shut down as the question has been answered and the 2025 thread started.

Will be interesting to see which of the 10 or so over 30 yr olds are going to provide the improvement to the Pies next season

For Carlton it was good to see great performances on the weekend from the 3 debutants and the rest of our our under 22s aside from Motlop.

Well the undermanned Pies pulled off the upset of the season by beating the premiership favourites. But good on Carlton beating the might of West Coast, definitely a challenging game that one…

Come on, don't downplay Carlton's win on the weekend.

We've previously established that win is amongst their top 10 wins since the turn of the century - a backs to the wall win against the 16th placed team who had nothing to play for, to keep Carlton's finals hopes alive going into the last game of the season.

Inspiring stuff!

So 16th placed Hawks were better than the premiers last year because they beat them in their only matchup?
Lions were better than Pies last year for beating them 2 out of 3 times? Winning by a combined 57 points and losing one by 4 points.
That's the logic you want to run with?

I would have thought "who's better" is a fairly simple formula.
Whoever finishes higher on the ladder.
First qualifier is total premiership points. If both teams finish on the same number of points, total wins becomes the deciding factor.
If both teams finish on the same number of wins, then head to head becomes the decider. If the head to head is split, then season percentage is the decider.
