Banter Carlton is better in 2024. Who will be better in 2025? Carlton or Collingwood? Part 3

Banter threads are not to be taken too seriously. Have fun. Let others have fun.

Agreed, Blues are actually in great form and playing to the best of their ability 👏 nearly beat the Pies and an outside chance for a rare finals' appearance 🙂
We have been in a poor patch of form the last month or so - no one is disputing that. The comments on Walsh and Curnow based on that patch of form are reactionary and resultist

Rubbish, you've been in the same form for 3 years, nothing changes

Boring predictable football which is easily picked apart by the better coaches

Helps playing double the amount of games against the two battlers with % in the 60s.

16 of Carlton's 48 points come from games against North n Rich.

Just 8 of the Pies 44 points are from games against North n Rich.

Pies clearly have Carlton's measure in 2024.
As much as you may 'have our measure' (kinda funny when considering how narrow the victories have been) you are still more poorly performed than us this year, slice it and dice it however you like , the answer to the question posed in the title thread is still Carlton at this stage :p

That just starts to look like match fixing to get the Pies into GF's to me.

Somebody should investigate.
Carlton can't imagine winning without cheating? ;)

The Pies bring out the best in everyone. We raise the bar and every club aspires to beat us, by fair means or foul.

What are Carltons greatest gf wins? 1970 and 1979, although the two vs Richmond were also superb.

You are welcome.

Agreed. Everything's relative. Even if they don't win another game, this year has already been a huge success for the Blues.

Still played enough good football to be in front of the Pies, looks like their coaching has been picked apart more.

Unfortunately you don't get a trophy for falling over the line mid-field in front the hungover reigning premiers

Oh hang on yes you do...

Eight of Collingwood’s 44 points came from games against Carlton.

Carlton unfortunately aren’t lucky enough to play them.

More fun down here mate.

Fixture isn't the same for every club.
Yep.

Yet despite being aware that the fixture aint even, when determining who is "better" between two teams, instead of looking at direct HTH match ups as the primary determinant, you revert to the ladder which is based off a compromised fixture!

Pretty obvious Collingwood, by beating Carlton twice in 2024, that the Pies are better than the Blueshakes.

Blueshakes benefit from a soft fixture to currently be higher on the ladder.

There is no situation where going off 2/23+ games is better than using all 23+ games. You win the head to head and you are two games up on the other team - if you fail to finish ahead of them despite this you can't claim you are better over the season.

Still three games left at a minimum so question remains unanswered.

It's ok everyone. We may not be the best teams this year, but we do have this.
