Banter Carlton is better in 2024. Who will be better in 2025? Carlton or Collingwood? Part 3

Banter threads are not to be taken too seriously. Have fun. Let others have fun.

We didn’t get any of that and still only miss finals on % with the leagues worst injury list
You used up all your luck mate against GWS in the prelim final last year!

Brave by Carlton today to beat the west coast eagles to try and scrape into finals. The eagles are no easy beats they won a flag in 2018, so it’s basically a win against a top 4 team.

Great season blues!
Even better was our win over your mob 46 pts down, remember that, yeah good win that by the blues 😉

We are using the new "number of positions above the other team, accumulated weekly".

By this foolproof metric we see that Carlton is clearly the superior team in 2024:

RoundLadder Positions Diff
OR3
111
28
36
47
57
66
74
81
91
10-5
11-1
124
134
141
152
164
177
1810
1911
208
213
222
232

If we use arithmetic (which is probably too big a word for your average Collingwood supporter to understand, and definitely too complicated a task for them to perform) we find that the difference in Carlton's favour, with one week to go, is a whopping:

106
Will just take actually beating Carlton twice again, to confirm who the better side was again.

Leave the Bagger fans to come up with a series of "consistent" metrics which emphasise their soft fixture.

It is ok, everybody know the Baggers had a soft start and a gift of a season from a fixture perspective.

And we were in the Grand Final just the game prior to that, so IMO that counts as another flag for Carlton. What is the tally up to now? 6 or 7 moral flags this season alone!

Not so fast.

Carlton finish a maximum of 2 games ahead of us (likely 1 game, possibly 0 games), courtesy of the double up games against North and Richmond.

Collingwood head to head record against Carlton 2 - 0.

Pies the BETTER team. (unless Carlton do more than merely make up the numbers in the finals - if they get there).
Why are you mentioning North when you barely got over them and was a 50m penalty away from a loss?

Glad to see you have found your voice in here after disappearing from the Eagles game day thread after Qtr time! 🫣🤭🤫

Quality melts you show each week are quite enjoyable and this thread is right up your Bay 13 style of crap you spew all over the main board every day.

You going to lobby the AFL to change percentage from being the deciding factor to split teams?

Oh well Fadge ... :moustache: 😂😂😂

mafetamically impossible for your mob to finish higher than Carlton this year.

you can checksum the code if you like , I'll flick you a working Hewlett Packard calculator if you like- an upgrade on the old abacus for sure.

now for Ross the Toss Boss - nek week.

It isn't done yet, we just need to lose by 100 points, and pies win by 100.

Why would I?

We all know that percentage is the differentiator to determine which team finishes HIGHER on the ladder in the event of two teams having the same amount of premiership points.

But it does not necessarily mean the team with the higher percentage is the BETTER team - i.e. the premise of this thread. For that, reasonable analysis needs to be performed.

It's like saying a horse that wins a handicap race carrying 54 kg with a dream run on the rails is the BETTER horse, compared to the horse that finished second by half a length but carried 59 kg and was 3 wide all race.

But you weren't.

The analysis has been done in hindsight, and North and Richmond have clearly been the two worst teams in the competition.
I still don’t get why Carlton and hawks double ups were so similar
