Agree I don’t see Carlton as bottom 4 but it would be brilliant given we have their firstId be willing to put my account on us not finishing bottom 4 in 2025.
More chance of me rooting Sydney Sweeney on the weekend.

The swapping of first round picks and the double revenge (being beaten in our last game together and a poor first round outing) didn’t seem to be motivating enough to get a win.
What do the blues need to motivate them more? Or is it a game plan/list issue?
Either way, I fear that even though it’s only round three that Carlton may not find the answers soon enough
Mr Almost was the best key forward last night played his role beautifully kicking 3, runs/tackles/pressures, beautiful kick at goal and in general play and brings the ball to ground for the small forwards ….. compared to Cunrow who didn’t even register a point! Chol on $500k compared to Cunrow and McKay both on close to $1mil. ……. Chol has been a very good pickup for the HawksTim who?
Chol is one of those athletically gifted guys who promises the world & fails ….albeit spectacularly.
He is Mr Almost.
He was OK, missed a few goals.Mr Almost was the best key forward last night played his role beautifully kicking 3, runs/tackles/pressures, beautiful kick at goal and in general play and brings the ball to ground for the small forwards ….. compared to Cunrow who didn’t even register a point! He kicked 37 last year but we don’t judge Chol or any other player on their individual stats/achievements. He is part of a forward group to do a collective job of kicking a score that gives the team a good chance of winning and gives Meek a breather in the ruck.He was OK, missed a few goals.
3 goal return from him is pretty good!
Must be a personal best?
Good on him!
Cripps looks completely disinterested..Has his Brownlow and looks like he's going to do an Ollie wines and just plod for the rest of his career. Getting tackled a lot from behind. Looks rattled by the speed of the game.
Docherty is absolutely cooked..so many fumbles . Also seems panicked.. completely lost his mojo. Looks rattled by the speed of the game.
Walsh just very very ordinary. Everyone knows he has endurance but he's very slow and his kicking and decision making are shot. No confidence. No explosiveness. Looks rattled by the speed of the game.
Lobotomized take on Cripps. Clueless.Cripps looks completely disinterested..Has his Brownlow and looks like he's going to do an Ollie wines and just plod for the rest of his career. Getting tackled a lot from behind. Looks rattled by the speed of the game.

Your forward line wants for nothing - lots of confidence, as it happens - the exact opposite of my team!He kicked 37 last year but we don’t judge Chol or any other player on their individual stats/achievements. Since first coming through the doors he has been very good playing an important role for the team. For his size he does taps to advantage, chases, tackles, pressures that doesn’t get the accolades

Chol has the ability to tear a game apart - just doesn’t keep his head in the game for long enough.
Luckily for you - you don’t need him to!
They said going into the season that oppo coaches will put more time into working them out ….. guess they better go back to 18 on the ground thenWith 19 on the ground, you'd think hawks would be better for sure.
Still inconsistent on his off days. Him and Day need to tighten that gap to join the top wrung of mids in the comp. Was fantastic last night.I've been following Jai Newcombe since he first played at Box Hill. Our midfield stocks were dire in 2021, with Mitchell and O'Meara slowing us down and preventing James Worpel from performing the role he's best suited to.
Jai had all the tools, but still looked quite raw when we selected him in the 2021 MSD. Regardless, I was super excited. His development was always going to come, but it was quite funny seeing those outside of the Hawthorn bubble write him off as being your typical inside midfielder who had no improvement left due to his larger frame.
Fast forward a couple of years and he's clearly the best performed midfielder in a red hot contest against Patrick Cripps, Sam Walsh and Adam Cerra.
32 disposals (20 contested) and 11 tackles. If only that shot on goal had gone through.
He's a complete player and somehow still getting better.
You also seem interested in just having a crack. But again it doesn’t matter if Chol doesn’t tear a game apart because all Sam and Hawk supporters want is that he plays his role for the team which hopefully leads to 4 points on the day.
McKay is probably more of a reason to be called Mr Almost (your labelling of Chol) because he goes missing at times and he’s on a million bucks! It’s amusing how you and some of your mates on here are so critical of Hawthorn players but so complimentary of the Blues that have been coming for 30 years!
Don’t think randomly turning up to a Hawks thread and seeing a bunch of posters for the first time puts them in the ‘up and about’ category. A lot of the Hawk posters on this thread have been loyal supporters for many years sticking by the club through thick and thin even when crap. You also seem interested in just having a crack.
Hawks fans are up & about that’s for
sure. Let’s see how the year pans out.
The point behind calling Chol Mr.Almost stands - yes he plays his part - but he has the physical attributes to tear a game apart - yet he never does.
He seems more invested in his & others’ goal celebrations.
McKay is a recent Coleman Medal winner - his career as a key forward compared to Chol is in a different stratosphere.
McKay is a fraud, and if this mentality of his permeates the rest of the playing group it’s no wonder you can’t achieve anything. You also seem interested in just having a crack.

How was Ginnivan's mindset when he was tweeting to Heeney last year before the Port game? Permeate through the group?McKay is a fraud, and if this mentality of his permeates the rest of the playing group it’s no wonder you can’t achieve anything.

Ginnivan’s cheeky and overly confident tweet to a mate verses McKay’s acceptance of mediocrity and usage of incorrect abstract nouns? I know which one I’d preferHow was Ginnivan's mindset when he was tweeting to Heeney last year before the Port game? Permeate through the group?
What the flying eff. You're right about the others but have to pull you up on this one, which is almost like you never watch him.Cripps looks completely disinterested..Has his Brownlow and looks like he's going to do an Ollie wines and just plod for the rest of his career. I’ve not really heard him speak before, but that article is pretty damning peak into a mindset that’s not going to get anything done.Heard him on radio and his favourite underwear on game day are boxer shorts with yellow little duckies ……. on a million bucks you’d hope he would be solely focused on crashing packs, being aggressive at ball/man, applying pressure, opposition backs etc but nah what underwear shall will I wear today. Seriously! And then to have a crack at Chol who is holding up the fort with Lewis/Dear out![]()
