I think Allastair Clarkson might come under pressure too if North Melbourne continue to languish at or near at the bottom of the ladder getting chopped up week after week showing few if any signs of improvement.

Sure, the Kangaroos have a young squad and are undergoing a rebuilding process, but in the past with young squads that are being rebuilt you see some improvement, the team learning and sticking to a game plan, enthusiasm from the young players and new recruits cycled into the team and those players underperforming or not up to standard moved on. This is true for teams where the rebuild proved a success (such as Melbourne under Paul Roos in the mid-2010s), and those where it ultimately did not. These 'false dawn' teams at least showed some effort and improvement that suggested the team was on the rise Carlton under Brendan Bolton in 2016 and 2017 one such example.

But North Melbourne have been rebuilding for four years now under two coaches Noble and Clarkson, with a lengthy acting stint by Brett Ratten and the team is still as bad as ever, maybe even worse in 2024. And while players may be young and inexperienced, there's no guarantee they are going to be champions of the AFL, have long successful careers or blend well together as a team.

Allastair Clarkson is a great coach and his impressive achievements at Hawthorn prove this beyond any shadow of doubt, but is he the right coach for North Melbourne at the moment? Time will tell, but it is starting to look doubtful at this stage. However I think that Clarkson might be a success at coaching a third AFL club should this situation arise in the future.

Clarkson will want to show some improvement next year. Don't think his job will be under any serious threat but there will be some media pressure.

Nicks and Voss for mine are under the biggest threat of losing their job.

I personally don't see how B.Scott is under any pressure. The only ones that go into next year under pressure are Nicks and Goodwin.

When Clarko and Mitch did the swaperoo, North had a much more advanced list of youngsters and high picks. Clarko might have them playing a bit better (at least in the last 5 games of the year), but he has not pulled them much up the ladder at all. Mitch has taken a ragtag list of low picks and moneyball recruits and has them singing.

At some point, the North board will begin to question the value of paying a bloke a million(?) per year without the results of paper. They would want to start moving up soon.

Hmm, from the outside Scott has gone from finals to out (and it was an epic choke this year if we are being honest).. If he is out again next year, he would have to be under pressure right?
