Who Wont Be At West Coast Next Year???

To the person who asked, I don't think Armstrong can play in defence because he isn't quick enough and because he isn't good enough in the air. He certainly does have the second efforts though.

As for Hunter, IMO he shouldn't be traded. That's mainly because it'll be 2010 (or mid to late 2009) before we have a player to replace him at CHB, and because he's a competant fill in for CHF and FF - and we'll need someone like that while we wait for the kids.

We need a Line-breaker.

Also Mike Thompsons boy better get a move on if he wants to hang around. Anyone know the latest???

Do you know there is two ways to break lines?

One is to run very fast through them.........

The other is the pass by foot fast and low to advantage...........:thumbsu:

The words out that skills session are the top priority ATM.

Out: Braun - Ret, Wirra - Ret, Fletcher - Ret

Traded : Graham, Hansen

Draft: Natanui or whatever....Yarran

I really don't understand why everyone doesn't seem to care about Armstrong??
I thought he wasn't too bad on the weekend, and he certainly hasn't been that bad this year, or in previous years.

I think he is quite handy for us to have in our team and seems to have a bit of passion... no?

Armstrong is great. Is not a class player by any stretch, but tries his heart out and always plays for the team. Of course a lot of people aren't interested in that.

Exactly. Why people couldn't give two sh!ts about armstrong puzzles me. He has been good and puts his heart into his performances. He'll have his on and off days, just like anyone. Army is not a star but we can't have 44 stars in the team because we won't keep them all at the club as they'll be complaining about $$ and opportunities. That is why I value having the likes of Armstrong and Rosa, their efforts may go relatively unnoticed and they may be the scapegoats but they want to play footy and they want to play for our club and they have the talent and despite what people think they see or would like to believe they see when the team isn't going so well, these players do make the effort and don't do a lot wrong in their roles.

We've just been blessed for too long and I think people either aren't appreciating these guys or they have no idea or they're asking for/expecting too much. The thing is these guys no they aren't stars and they're not ranting and raving every chance they get if senior players get selected ahead of them. They go back to the WAFL and work through it for their next chance at AFL.

If we didn't have Army in the team this year and with LeCras' injury, we would be screwed!!!

It took a while for me to write this, I'm half studying, so if sentences don't make sense or if it's repetitive - sorry.

Brown will be bigger, more athletic and better. He will be able to hold his own against big KP forwards which hunter can't. Gotta look to the future. We are rebuilding, Hunter is about to turn 27 and by the time we are in premiership contention he will be well past it and on te downward slope. If he was traded, we could give a kid a more extended run at holding down that position. Mackenzie, brown and schofield will be pushing for selection and they are younger and in my opinion, will be more talented. The earlier we do it, the longer that our ounger players have to adjust and mould to that position.

Don't forget Brown is a Victorian and considering that the club is not performing and his injury status don't pin your hopes on Browny.

Why are people saying Wirra will retire? He has said he wants to play on after this year. Quite frankly he has been one of our best players so far this season so should be able to play on if he wants to.

Not really, i just think he meant that its going to be hard to pick someone up with those qualities who will be ready to be a gun in the next couple of years. A player who is exactly like that is Daniel Rich, but we would need a top.2 pick to get him.

Possibly Yarran would be the pick-up for a goalkicking midfielder, although hes not anything like cooney. Hes more of a natural forward who can develop into a midfielder later on, not a goalkicking midfielder.

Please explain this to me?

Id look to move on Hansen, Embley, Nicoski.

I'd de-list Armstrong and Macnamara.

Have a play-off for a postion between Graham and Cones.

Play them both for the rest of the year and see who wants it more.

You may not have anything to do with West Coast.

no but you clearly do not have anything to do with west coast. if you did, we would'nt have built such a great team and won a premiership.

people like you, who make rash decisions based on whats currently happening would have no place at a football club.

are you high??? Delist McNamara? one of our most talented yougsters? He had ONE bad game, and has only just turned 20? Delisting talented youth during a rebuilding phase is very very very dumb. He will be a perfect replacement for stenglein as a defensive mid who can tag. Shame on you sir, shame on you...

From what I've read elsewhere Trump sees him as a one-way player

Can't say I've seen enough of him myself to judge. I would've thought though, that he'd be on a 2 year contract

Go and watch him play for East Freo.

There is a reason why Masten/Ebert/Selwood were all given a go before him.

He is selfish and lazy.

way, way to early to delist him. I would rather see fletcher and braun go before even considering McNamara. The coaching staff have big wraps on him and it is just to early. Force the work rate in to him and teach him to pass it off and he should be fine.
