Who Wont Be At West Coast Next Year???

Anyways, to put this back on track, please reply to the topic if you have anything worth while to say, as it appears that you too are looking for a personal battle. At 60+ years of age I do not have the time left in my life to waste on such discussions.

I'm far younger but don't have the time or motivation for a personal battle with a fellow supporter either. I save it for Freo fans:D

I just thought you were being particularly aggressive towards people who disagreed with your point of view, chiefly larrikin who is a respected poster around here. We already have one Gunnar Longshanks.

For some reason larrikin thinks I'm a troll. All good :)

We're talking about next year, not this year. Get them ready for next year by giving them senior WAFL football and some AFL games in the meantime.

Every player mentioned is either:

(a) in the West Coast team
(b) playing senior WAFL football and has or has not played for West Coast already in 2008
(c) injured an unable to play for anyone

Btw, at which point did your selection ideas move from 2008 to 2009?

When I read the thread title. Did you read the thread title? The bit where it says 'next year' is quite pertinent.

I know Rosa played this week but he has been on the back burner a little thus far, just wanted to know what you guys thought, would he be a player that maybe traded? and if so what would you be expecting in return
Collingwood still lusting after Rosa I see. What would we expect in return for Rosa ? I would say probably a lot more than Collingwood would be prepared to offer . First round pick plus a player such as Pendlebury or Thomas would be considered fair by many Eagles fans, but I doubt that any Magpie fan would agree with that assessment !

So when larrikin called you up for saying we should be playing guys who are in fact already in the side, you really meant that those players should in fact be in the side next year...

What about the bit 'and co'. Conveniently missed that little bit did you? We have plenty of young players that could be playing. Just because I named some of those that happened to play, doesn't mean that those who didn't get a game wouldn't be capable.

Ebert, Notte, Butler, Jones, MacKenzie, McNamara, Selwood etc... There are many more. Are you happy now?

Yep, your response made that pretty clear.

Tell us, oracle, who should be playing this year?

i reckon we should trade you to the fremantle team supporter base. can we do that?

Fletcher - Obvious issues. Even Woosh agrees his disposal is a worry. Would have been traded to Fremantle if they accepted at the end of 06.
Embley - Injured too often and badly out of form. Big questions over whether his body can handle the rigours of AFL football any more.
Hansen - Had never done anything and helps the team tread water.
Lynch - Never rated the guy. Had a great 06, but seems to have been a fluke. We need a more reliable focal point. Could be more valuable playing Hansen's role though.
Wirra (retire) - Drafted him at 16 and not the player he once was. Possibly the only one who is worth having around for another year.
Armstrong - Should never have picked him up.
Graham - Shown nothign this year and if it continues then by next year, he should be traded
Braun (retire) - Terribly out of form and likely to retire. I'm certainly not the only one to question his value to the team.

We need to get rid of the baggage and start on our trip to another premiership. We've already lost Judd, Cousins, Chick, Rojo, Wooden and Morton. We might as well do the whole job.

Playing a hell of a lot better than you suggest has been one of very few eagles playing well.

Read the thread title. I know you can do it. I'm sure you can in fact. Go on chap. Read it.

I've read the thread title.

Claiming that Rosa, Mckinley and Masten should be in the side sure has a lot to do with it...

Well I didn't say Masten in my original post and I also said 'and co', as in the other players that fit into the young guy bracket. Some are trying so hard to shut down my opinion that they aren't actually dealing with the facts. Instead, they're trying to skew my words and selectively choose bits to quote that make me look foolish.

You were saying?

So when all else fails and you realise that you were wrong in presuming that I was commenting on this year, you change a few words of my last post and pretend that's what I wrote.

That is an old joke. Very pitiful. Just admit you made a mistake. I don't even want an apology....I just want you to move on now. You were wrong, stop trying to hold face when there's nothing to hold face about. If you have a problem with my opinion based on next year, then please make a comment. Otherwise, grow up and move on.

I wasn't wrong. You were. You were talking about team selections and who we should play, and since being called up you are now talking about next year and claiming you were all along.

Ok...

(a) If we followed your advice and moved all those players on, we would finish last in 2009.

(b) You know ____ all about football.

Daniel Kerr will not be traded. That is that. The west coast people need to see that. he has been in the top 5 in the brownlow for the last 3 years and is likely to keep that form for another 2 years. he is the midfield whilst the likes of Masten, Selwood Jnr and the likes develop whilst Butler, Rosa and the likes start tearing games apart and start showing why they are still on the list.

I do agree that the midfield is still a gun short, and you people are talking about trading your gun (A+) midfielder, I like the idea of trading seaby with a pick, for a higher draft pick to nab Rich in the draft, but Rich is too good and will be top 3-4 easily.

Hopefully some of the bandwagon supporters.

You gotta take the good times with the bad

Oh my lord. You are so far in denial it's unbelievable. Yes I was talking about team selections, but for next year. The thread title mate....what does it say? It says 'Who Wont Be At West Coast Next Year???' I've been begging you to read it. So where do you get the idea that I was talking about this year, or this week? There is absolutely nothing indicating this. YOU were wrong. I never said anything about team selection this year. If I was, then quote me. I'll happily admit my mistake and move on. If only you could do the same. You say I'm wrong, but have no evidence to suggest that I was talking about this year. Your denial is becoming quite comical, though frustrating that you can't find a quote yet continue to debate the issue.

That's all you have. Most mature and educated people would be able to explain to us the actual reasons why we shouldn't move those players on. All you can do is throw obscenity's.

So quote me. Show me where I said anything about this year. As the thread title suggests, we are all on this thread talking about NEXT year. Jeez mate, for a dying man, you sure know how to bring out some frustration.

Following up on your 'why not play the Rosa's and Mckinley's' (we already are...) and your list of others you said...

You are discussing and advocating the inclusion of players into the side this year. If that isn't talking about team selection and this year, then what is? Let's not pretend your initial input was 'players x, y and z will be gone for these reasons'.

That's all you have. Most mature and educated people would be able to explain to us the actual reasons why we shouldn't move those players on. All you can do is throw obscenity's.

WCF's 2009 side.

B: A Selwood Glass Waters
HB: Hurn Hunter B Jones
C: Rosa Priddis Ebert
HF: Staker Brown Nicoski
F: LeCras Kennedy Mckinley
Foll: Cox Kerr Masten
IC: Seaby Stenglein Nicoski Butler
EMG: S Selwood Spangher Schofield

Outside the 25: McNamara, C Jones, Mackenzie, Houlihan, Thomson, Notte, Mcginnity + 9 new young players.

That's a 22 with only 5 players with over 100 games experience, and not a single player outside it with double figures experience to their name.

I reckon I was pretty close to the mark when I said:

(a) If we followed your advice and moved all those players on, we would finish last in 2009.

(b) You know ____ all about football.

What reasoning is really required to prove the stupidity of moving on 9 experienced players?
