Rupert Murdoch says business practices of Google and Facebook warrant scrutiny

News Corp’s executive chairman has accused the tech giants of censorship, collusion and a lack of transparency that has left other companies and consumers worse off.
Says the guy whose company hacked the phones of dead people.

No coincidence that the two sanest countries in the Anglosphere, Canada and New Zealand, are two countries where Murdoch’s presence is particularly weak. He really is a carcinogen.
I'm looking forward to pointing, laughing and mocking his kids and grandkids grief during his funeral. Normally that wouldn't be acceptable but they have to understand my frustration.

It seems to me that Murodch knows he is loosing power and he cannot reverse it.

Maybe its time for Murdoch to pull himself up by his bootstraps and compete in this new world

It’ll be the Thatcher death mk2. People will rejoice in the street.

Reminds of a quote from the British comedian who died recently when discussing a state funeral for Thatcher "It doesn't matter if there is a state funeral or not, the main thing is that she's dead"

for someone who claims to love competition, he does all he can to stop it. hypocrite and pusher of misinformation.

Rarely do you find businessman or businesswoman that like competition. Most times they like the competition to disappear so they reap all the profits in their chosen industry for themselves. If they say they like competition that’s complete bs

I dont deny the history of the ABC, I remember 4 Corners back to Michael Charlton.
The modern day show unfortunately belies its proud history.

However the post I replied to is the context of my comments, not the history of 4 Corners.
You are delusional if you think that Four Corners isn't as relevant and as cutting edge as it has been for it's entire history and the ABC is still, by far, the most balanced and informative news broadcaster in Australia - by a country mile!

No good trying to argue logically about facts with people who just keep spouting irrational fact-free articles of faith.

Fabulous post mate. Right wingers just want to urinate on everything about this country that is great.
You see, we don't have a major left wing media outlet in Australia, just a right wing/hard right cabal who quite often have no qualms in presenting far-right commentary and calling it news and because of this, the ABC, which is dead center, is being presented as the "voice" of the "left", (whoever they are).

The ABC is an easy target therefore, and the ignoramuses swallow the line that the ABC is "left wing" because it isn't right wing like the Murdoch/Costello/Stokes triumvirate and therefore, it must be left wing. That's the absurd argument put forward Murdoch/Costello/Stokes and some actually buy it!

Tell me about it. I've argued this till I'm blue in the face. Most people actually respect the ABC. Its critics are exceedingly noisy but definitely not the majority. They just have a glaring vested interest in destroying it.

Whilst there is a Thatcherite Government running things in Australia, the ABC, like any number of important public institutions, will be pilloried and have their funding cut or obliterated all together. Make that a Fundamentalist led Thatcherite Government and the dire consequences are greatly amplified.

Whitlam abolished television and radio licences, thus making the ABC vulnerable.
The Hawke/Keating Government started the rot by abolishing the “two-station rule”. Whitlam abolishing television and radio licences lifted a tax burden upon the poorest of the poor as well as everyone else. It was a ludicrous situation when you could be living in Vaucluse and pay the same for a television/radio license as those who lived in Redfern and there were a hell of a lot more Redfern types in Australia than the Vaucluse types.

I'd guess you would cry fowl (sic) if one of his family treated your mocking with the contempt you would show. Wanting to hold a kid responsible for the grandfather exposes your real character. Great grandchildren fair go too?

You'd be as ignorant as your post suggests, IF you are unaware members of Ruperts family hold different views & have often expressed those views.

As a long time viewer I disagree, the calibre of the reporting ranges from the very good to abysmal.
