That's simply because freo are rebuilding, and WC aren't there yet. Doesn't take a genius to work out why the masses vote like that. Perhaps you should use your brain and think for yourself since no poles on any thread have predicted the last 2 premiers or the last 2 ladders.
Yeah there is a monumental difference between a 50/50 poll (technically neither is an option too) and picking a premier out of 13 teams or ESPECIALLY an 18 team ladder. When I say monumentally I mean the odds of you correctly tipping the ladder is mathematically insignificant. There is a reason why Kogan gives out $1m if you can do it because they know nobody ever will.

And yet you hang him on one game in 2015.
I think it is his squibbing, throwing his head back for no apparent reason and leaping off the ground like he's in the latest Shakespeare production gets up my goat the most. I have certainly seen that more than once.
I reckon he' s a very good footballer but tries to get those cheap Selwood-like free kicks which hurts his output. In saying that I think he should stick with the McBeth stuff. Very entertaining!

Fair enough if it's the theatrics, I also get annoyed by that and you will find there are a fair few Eagles supporters in the same boat.

It's just the harping on about his 2015 GF by certain posters that amuse me.

A bit like your number 1 forward

Yeah tongue in cheek about Pavlich. Pav is one of the greats but Darling is a proven goal kicker and is a valuable asset to WC. You’d be wrapt to have a kpf with a record like his

Clive >>>>> Coolhand Luke >>>>> Darling.

I acknowledge that Darling would be a first choice in the Freo forward line, but geez he is a very floppable product.

Then pay attention to the first half of what I said, anyone would just look at freo bottoming out, thus, must be closer. Who would have thought?

You have 1 player in the history of your club who has kicked more goals than him and he’s barely halfway through his career.

One things for sure,
Gold Coast will be hoping west coast have a shocking season

Your post clearly made a judgement on the validity of the poll did it not? You cited the fact that other polls were ineffective and I addressed why that was not a valid comparison.

I was just curious as to why the poll is any better or worse as a predictor than your opinion?

Hilarious - I replied to this post from the preceding page without seeing your response. We used identical words - squib and actor.

Not me - he’s been a consistent squibber, fumbler and mock high contact actor.

Fair enough if it's the theatrics, I also get annoyed by that and you will find there are a fair few Eagles supporters in the same boat.

Until your last post you mentioned nothing about his theatrics, which is something I don't disagree with.

However, he has certainly performed in big games as recently as late last year.

It’s all just part of the package which I hadn’t attempted to describe previously.

The 2017 equivalent match to the 2015 GF was your semi against GWS - a chance for redemption, but again nothing too positive or memorable to help the cause. WC lost the midfield battle, although Priddis, Mitchell, Shuey and Redden were generally seen as the best for them; certainly no suggestion of Darling rising above the adversity.

GWS beat us twice during the home and away rounds last year, we came off an extra time final and had to travel. The final result was no surprise in how we wilted.

Not the first, and not the last team to get belted by GWS.

If we lost the midfield battle do you expect the forwards to get decent supply then?

No - hence my comment that, although up against it, he did nothing to rise above the adversity.

Also - it was bizarre that GWS controlled the game but the WC inside mids were deemed their best contributors.

Don't think we can criticise the forwards for doing little if the midfield isn't getting their hands on it.

It was because they tried hard but were beaten by a superior outfit. The GWS midfield is f***ing scary when they are on song.
