Baker is tiny and always seems to tag dirty ie pulling jumper, holding on.

Sewell is much quicker than Lingy but Lingy has gotten the job done over so many more seasons than him. Ling is tall, strong and can sneak forward to hurt with goals as shown this year.

IMO Ling>Sewell but only just.

This thread needs the other good taggers as options - Stenglein, Godfrey, Shirley, Crouch, Any Selwood.

I'm more interested in peoples oppinions on these 2. They just get the job done and don't get the recognition they should.

Just wondering who people think is better

Its very close, I think that Sewell is a better complete player, in that he not only stops his opponent but also finds plenty of the pill and is pretty effective with it.

But at purely taking their opponent out of the game i would have to say Ling.

I would actually see it the other way round. Ling can push forward and is a proven goalkicker, and Sewell towelled up Chapman when we play you guys so i rate him very highly as a tagger.

But I think Baker is better than both.

Cameron Ling.

Kept Deledio to 6 possessions. Kept Daniel Kerr to 10 possessions.

He's the best.

Kane Johnson deserves recognition though, he won the B+F by tagging last year. Kept Shaun Burgoyne to 11 possessions this week. He's not the best with the ball anymore but defensively he's a star. And only 2 people successfully tagged Judd to a low possession game last year - one of them was Johnson.

Baker is definently the cheapest tagger!
But aren't we talking about taggers that can actually do it within the rules.
I think Sewell, at the moment. But both very good.

IMO Kirk,Ling and Crouch have been the best over time.Sewell,Baker are very good but lets just see if they can do it over a long period of time.

Although i dont pay much attention to taggers, stenglien is one of the best because he often hurts his opponent attacking more then other taggers.

Lings effort on kerr on the weekend was highly illegal.

After all the rabble about eagles being favoured the umpires tried to make the free kick count even (wrongly so) and this is not their job, their job is to pay them as they are, the eagles(kerr particularly) got a very harsh deal and i blame the media for their pathetic complaining. If the eagles give away less frees and deserve to be given more then so be it, there is no rule saying the count has to be relatively similar.

This entire post may be the most biased thing I've ever read on BigFooty, including parrot's and F-U's work...

actually it made plenty of sense, ling is a great player but kerr got a very raw deal against the cats. The umpires were so conscious of looking not to favour the eagles that they did a bad job in this area.

I'm not saying the eagles would have won the match or anything like that but i still think kerr got a raw deal.
