Did I expect him to be shunned? Of course not. He's a good player and was a Crows champion. If he was Johnny No Name his career probably would've been over. That's just the world we live in. Ethical consequences come after institutional success (i.e on field performance when it comes to AFL). Unless they're backed into such a corner where it can't be ignored. I've never understood this 'We are the high moral arbiters of upstanding behaviour' crap you lot drone on with it's bizarre, you all have roots at the former SANFL clubs you once supported & you booed, spat & swore as much as anyone else. The only time I've ever genuinely felt fear at a football match was at Elizabeth ffs.

That aside, the Advertiser Sport (which I assume is colouring your judgement) does a good job at controlling the narrative. Take the last showdown for instance. One of your fan punches our mascot in the face and one of your players lashes out at a fan. Yet all of the dialogue is about the alleged booing off of Rankine (which didn't even happen).
