you know what? i freakin' HATE melbourne supporters. i was watching them THRASH my side on friday night, and it dawned on me how GOOD their team is. the players. melbourne has an AWESOME fleet of medium-height onballers/forwards. their spine may be a bit weak in a few years, but they are a fair team. quite good to watch, also...

it's just their PATHETIC supporters i hate. two rangerovers in the driveway(goddamn i hate four-wheel drives...), a house on the camberwell/hawthorn border, useless housewife (can't cook, clean or do ANYTHING remotely domestic), and their fat, insolent over-spoilt ONLY child. yuck.

they are ALL so sensible. they all wear 'nautica' clothing because they once rented a yacht for the weekend. so far removed from the rest of humanity. they wear leather gloves. the women wear sensible shoes and non-revealing clothing. with a sensible, demure shoulder-length bob cut style. the husband is an architect or a doctor, maybe even a specialist (neuro surgeon), he plays golf ONLY because his firm expects him too. he reads 'the age' newspaper, newsweek, financial review and the economist ONLY because it is expected of him. he has no backbone and a TOTAL inability to discipline his ONLY CHILD, mostly because he doesn't care for it. he married his wife, largely because he needed a younger replacement for his mother...

the child has been spoilt since birth, and either attends xavier, trinity, carey or maybe even assumption college. the child (most likely a boy) went to this school WHOLLY because his parents need to keep up appearances. they have NO idea what sort of school it is, what the curriculum focus is and what the school specialises in.

they always have 'dinner parties' which end before 9 pm, and they BUY into culture. they have no idea how to be a part of it, they need to BUY it. they enjoy shopping at 'independant' groceries because they like to give something back to the community, unaware that they are getting the CRAP ripped out of the them because all produce comes from the same supplier.

such boring, tepid people. they contribute NOTHING to society, and they are utter wastes of space.

Cheers. I don’t hate any particular clubs because of players except Essendon, whom I have a great dislike for due to Mark Johnson and Dean Solomon, plus I know a few Essendon supporters and most of them are arrogant pricks. Also hate Carlton due to parrot and the big campaign that they would make finals and be the surprise packet of the year after they won the Wizard Cup.
BTW I live in the country in a working class family and I'm not an only child. Aside from my uncle and his family I haven't met any of your so called 'upper class Melbourne supporter' stereotypes.

My most hated teams - St Kilda - family reasons.
Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon - Self Explanatory.


The most hated team is the Purple Girls from the other side of the Nullabor. How could any footballers be proud to wear purple jumpers. Their theme song is the worst in the league and their coach is just a dead set no brainer.

Collingwood - Hate everything about them, their club, supporters, players. Would not waste a drop of ******** to save their entire club from burning down.

Essendon - Traditional hate, only side that match us on sweet 16.

DISLIKED/RESPECTED
Richmond - I did once respect them, then I met too many of their fans, who think they are actually a threat this year.

Melbourne - BigFooty supporters have played a vital role in them being disliked. Not as good as they think they are.. Walker>>>>>Sylvia.

Stkilda - Think they are on the verge of success, along with the Dees, but aren't even close to being as successful as Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon so they have no right to brag.

Hawthorn - Respect them, but certainly the past (80's) brings a bit of hate on. Good luck to them this year though.

The rest of the clubs are just clubs I do not care about in the slightest really. Special mention to the Kangaroos,Bulldogs great fighting clubs.

spot on. i've also met the stalking-around-the-playground paedo types (seriously, he used to have a demons beanie...) as well as your dole-cheating drug addict demon supporters...

it's just those 'special few' demon supporters who i've happened to sit next to over the last few richmond-melbourne games...

they are the TOTAL antithesis of 'supporter'. they sit and watch. they barely move during the quarter, and NEVER show any sign of emotion. as if they are STILL in the office calculating the company's projected net profit and analysing a realistic sales target for the third quartile.

everything about them is 'keeping up with the joneses'. as if the boss FORCED him to be a football fan.

one of the more serious cases of Inverted Snobbery that I have come across ... my advice to you is to seek help .. quickly ..

if you need special help understanding what i mean by 'they', then look elsewhere for it. never have i said that ALL melbourne supporters are the upper class snobs. all i said was that they (the pathetic snob types) were the ones i disliked the most. keep reading, and you'll find that i even STATE that melbourne supporters come in all shapes and sizes.

Oh yes, and Gary Moorcroft - I know it's history, but if affected me at an impressionable time.

Adelaide - nothing like being beaten in a GF to get real resentment built. I NEVER want to hear that song again.

On the other hand, I know lots of their fans and really admire how they have stuck fast for so little return. It's more annoyance, really - nothing like the strength of feeling for Essendon or Adelaide.

For me it's not about hate, it's about respect or lack of. I respect Essendon for their attitude and culture, it's probably out of all clubs the one most like ours. Many i don't respect.

1999 will always be the Roos premiership. They closed the deal. No one else did that year. Why do you let it bother you? If it's a problem with you, IGNORE IT.

Obviously, you don't read my posts. Last 2 years, I picked the Bombers to finish 10th and 11th. Plus, it's not JUST Essendon. Every club has it's supporters think a flag is automatic only because they support them. That's where the credibility of this board gets called into question. I post opinions about all 16 clubs and speak from the heart. Those who find it offensive should find a foxhole and stay there.

I HATE RICHMOND...

REASON, because AFL is a tough contact sport that has thrived in Australia because its so tough and passionate.

Richmond are the anchor here... They are just so soft and they seem to attract a demographic of supporters who only emphasise this point...

If the Dockers continue with their gayness they will be added to the list also.
