It's pretty basic gws. They're not allowed to wear the prison bars because it's not their jumper. They are the Port Power not the Port Adelaide Magpies. If Port want to stay in the national competition then they need to accept this. It can't be healthy for their football club obsessing over Collginwood's jumper all the time.
Your argument might carry some weight except for the fact that the tradition and history of the Port Power started in 1997. As a Collingwood supporter I have no problem with other clubs celebrating their tradition, I do however have an issue with clubs inventing it.
another fool. the Port Adelaide that competed in the SANFL is the same Port Adelaide that moved into the AFL in 1997 and competes today. The moniker is insignificant. It's pretty basic gws. I've never understood the issue if having two clubs with the same jumper. We have clash strips.
No clubs can wear whatever they want be it at home or away.
Because Collingwood have a trademark on black and white used in a vertical patten.
Eddie's next stop is basketball refs then Juventus
Nice rant but Collingwood wore Black and white stripes before Port no matter how you measure it and that includes the renamed AFL in 1990 that Port were not a part of. On what basis could you possibly argue there was Victorian bias?Having said that, this is where the VFL becoming the default National Competition has an inherent flaw, in that it automatically conveys historical superiority to Victorian clubs, under the guise of a National Competition. Can't change it, so I guess that is that. Who cares that Collingwood actually commenced playing in Victoria in b&w diagonal stripes (source - Argus), or that it took the Magpies moniker after a trip to play in SA and they liked the Piping Shrike SA emblem? Means nothing in this competition, AFL makes the decisions and we have to abide by them.
Given it is their jumper and not being the AFL that seems a pretty silly question.Although I am interested as to how Port Adelaide Magpies played in the Foxtel Cup (an AFL sanctioned competition) wearing the prison bar guernsey. Did they have to ask permission from AFL / Collingwood for that?
So clubs should be able to wear anything they want? Pandora's Box.I used "should" to indicate the desired state.
it's the same club, fool.
I agree. Man Utd and Liverpool have managed

You mad honey ?Do you sweetheart? Ever seen the SA state of origin Guernsey?
Or would you rather a big red sash? Like the one you guys wear proudly after winning nationals in the 2011/2012 drug cheat competition!
Just as we don't care about SANFL clubs. Nor should we.
