No, im advocating against a religion running their own courts in a democratic society they integrate to. Women are an example of a group who may have unjust decisions made against them and not have the power to stand up against it due to their religions beliefs. Its not about protecting women specifically, its about protecting the laws of the country.

You do realize that no religion can 'run its own court' in our liberal democracy (if you're implying here in Australia), right? Laws of our country do not need protection from islamic immigration.

Civil law recognises polygamous relationships. You can have multiple defacto partners. An Islamic polygamous "marriage" falls under those laws, but obviously in cases of separation, settlements can be mediated through a body external to the family court - and obviously we haven't banned imams from presiding over external bodies.
