Of course there are organisations calling for the release of hostages for what its worth. Like the WHO. Amnesty International... can't even be bothered looking for more, took me like 5 seconds to find these:

Futile or not, it’s central to the conflict. And importantly, would bring the public’s attention to the central issue.

It seems to be just as pointless for these organisations to make the demand; they also are being ignored. But that’s slightly better than a sports person making a vanilla statement about “peace”. Everyone wants peace.

Israel is a democratic country billed as more like Australia than its neighbours, sells itself as being ‘morally superior’. We have a notable Jewish population - though not as notable as the US. We directly support Israel as an ally. The US directly supports Israel in many ways and is our biggest and most important cultural and military partner. Our media are heavily and highly pro-Israel and have been for decades.

It’s very different.

Of course, you could be intellectually lazy and just say ‘people only care because they’re antisemitic’ but that would be … stupid.
