I've heard a lot of talk about the 8 being cemented into position already (On the Couch etc..) and I can't understand why. Collingwood for me are in a precarious position. They've got 4 danger games coming up in the next 5 weeks and the game against Essendon isn't a certainty either. I look at the Saints run home and I can still see them getting up for September action.

Collingwoods run home: Sydney, Adelaide, North, Essendon, Hawks, Saints, Port, Sydney, Freo

Saints run home: North, Carlton, Hawks, West Coast, Port, Pies, Freo, Adelaide, Essendon

I've bolded the ones I think each team should definitely win. Looks like a close race to me.

So when Collingwood play St Kilda in Rnd 19 you think it will be a draw?

Actually a very good point that is made here. Our problem has been that we can't knock off the crap sides. With Rocca out for the year our forward like is going to struggle for structure. I'm just waiting for the trolls to go on about how crap he is but the fact is he takes the oppositions best defender and provides a target for our midfield.

you say that the essendon game isnt a certainty, yet you highlight it as a game that they "should definately win"

Well which is it? a def win or is it one that could go either way?

Also saying should definately win doesnt really work............which is it?

No game is a certainty. Of course Collingwood should beat the Bombers. They've should've beaten Carlton as well. If you want to be pedantic about my use of the word definitely then please spell it correctly.

Keep it on topic thanks

That said - I think you have over estimated the saints Rockford in that their current form doesn't suggest that games against Carlton, Port, Freo and Essendon will be definite wins.

Hell even the game against us is at Subi so we would still be a chance.

Perhaps, Saints came very close to beating the Pies earlier this year, and that was without Riewoldt. The Saints still have a lot of talent in their squad, the Pies have lost Rocca. I rate Collingwood ahead of St Kilda but I think it is closer than most think, St Kilda have been underachieving so far this season and could improve.

You can't rule Carlton out of finals yet. With Richmond and Saint Kilda in the next two weeks, we should find ourselves back in the 8

Collingwood can't knock off crap teams??? Collingwood have ONLY beaten crap teams ( apart from Geelong)

Melbourne
Essendon
Freo
West
Richmond
Saints

YOU'VE BEATEN ONE SIDE IN THE TOP 8! HEROIC! GIANT SLAYERS!

bit of a shakey bandwagon to have jumped on isn't it?

Can't really claim me a bandwagon supporter. How can you jump on something that still isn't that great of a side.

1. Positive we have shown some improvement
2. Collingwood might play finals, but who counts finals. How many years and they have produced one flag?

Collingwood shouldn't be rated as a top club, they have no heart, the coach is a constant disappointment, a terrible midfield and a leaky backline.

Collingwood will be lucky to finish 8th and if it does, it will play one final.

I'd rather a leaky backline than a leaky vagina.

Really - You have beaten us once in the last four times you have played us - so why do you say you should beat us - i would have thought 50/50 at very best.

And as for the saints they have beaten you 10 times in a row - so don't hold your breath there.

Maybe if we cheated we could have won more flags I guess. Our backline is fine thanks, but true our midfield aint the best.

As for Cartlon your one man forward line aint nothing to be proud about.

Ask Rick Hart - he is good at predicting teams finishing inside the 8

Don't worry dude Richmond will flog those flogs.
I don't know who would have Carlton as favourites?
Richmond have a way better list than Carlton:D:D:D:thumbsu:
They only have Judd who they had to poach from another club and Fev who wants to move on to greener pastures.
The word is that Fev wants to play at a club that will be involved in finals football.
Can't see Carlton playing finals in the next 20-30 years:p

If we are so crap, then Carlscum has not beaten even ONE good team for the year, go figure?

If the Roos beat Melbourne, Brisbane beat Richmond and the Saints beat West Coast this round (which they all should) then the Pies will be in 8th with the Hawks to come next round. Still confident?

a list of players who going missing when the heat is on ; Medhurst, Davis, Fraser,O'brien, Brown, O,Bree, the pasty irishman, Byron, Waklin(at least he pulled out and saved the embarssment)and that is the reason they wont make the 8

Agree we are playing some of the most pathetic footy I care to remeber. No excuses we are crap at the moment. Lose next week and we can kiss our finals chances goodbye.
