We must be tanking already..

Couldn't agree more. If Clarko didn't get his contract would of he made such a disgraceful move? I reckon this is the worst thing he has done when been at the club.

With all due respect to you guys, I think you are waay off course with your assessment of Clarkson. It's the coaches job to make the touch decisions like this. He's shown that he is willing not to play quality players at the expense of building their confidence at Box Hill (see Franklin). Admittedly there are a couple of other passengers like Bateman who also don't deserve a spot on form, but I for one an glad that Clarkson is trying to make the players aware of the fact that there are no certainties in the team selection - of course bar Ries.

Good point Phil. And lol about Ries - what is it with him? Are we trying to boost his trade value or something?

Still got my doubts - team list anyone?

Regardless, three weeks ago I would've agreed and applauded the decision - Willo has been soft and lazy of late - but atm, we are starting to put together a potent forward line and even a soft, lazy willo makes that forward line all the more dangerous.

One thing you have to give Clarko - he's not making decisions to please everyone - he's set in his ways and hopefully he knows what he's doing.

Dropping Willo was a strange one.

For the first time in ages the Hawks could have boasted the following forward line.

HF: Dicko - Croad - Franklin
FF: Willo - Barks - Everitt

The Saints can cover 2 talls, maybe 3, but not 4. Hudghton blanketed Willo last time they met but he'll be required elsewhere. Willo has been starved of opportunities due to Hodge playing injured and a general lack of quality delivery. Consider the return of Richie, Crawf and Guerra - there's 3 decent ball carriers and deliverers who havent played for a month.

Willo would have taken the 4th best defender for the first time since 2002 in a forward structure the Hawks have been dreaming about for a while.

We should have hit the Saints with everything.

Doesn't make sense.

We wont see Williams for 3+ weeks. We all know hes going to do nothing with the delivery Box Hill will give him. This could very well spell the end of him at our club if this is the case, in which i hope is not.
