A Vic club playing in a gf at the MCG has to be worth at least a couple of goals minimum, and possibly even more to Collingwood, Melbourne or Richmond, so I'm on the same page as those who believe it should be played at the ground of the higher finishing club regardless of which state they come from, but obviously that is a long time from happening due to that ridiculous 50 yr contract.
Some excellent points made by Duckimus Prime, when you actually see geebung's father sons dissected like that it wasn't only Ablett and Hawkins they got for well under their actual value, it was also the early draft picks they were left with to draft other high quality players that gave that club an enormous kiss on the appendage.
I agree with how the Vic clubs appear to come together when anything is seen as a potential threat to that states political dominance, while the interstate clubs (particularly those from SA and WA) seem just as intent on potting each other as much off the field as they want to win their clashes on it, but given the Power is the only club that evolved from a single entity and its history, I suspect that is unlikely to change for decades to come, if ever!
