Healy just threw 7 under the bus for their coverage of the test

Women's test should have been on the main channel and then men's on 72. Considering the men's was an afterthought.

I do find it funny people complaining about switching channels.

When I was younger once 6pm hit it was off to the news.

Split screen is awful idea, especially if the TV you owned is on the smaller side.

"Hopefully they don't bump us to 7Mate next time"

And then something about the boys but couldn't understand that bit

CA are to blame ditto Fox Cricket (who Alyssa works for) who didn't buy the rights for the Sri Lanka series. Had Fox showed the Sri Lanka series, it wouldn't be on 7 and thus we wouldn't have had the channel swapping we've had in the last few days.
Fox had fun with the speech. 1 commentator ‘gave a clip on the way out’ immediately after the presentation & beginning of their interview with Healy Barnard said ‘we would never bump you to another channel’ & Healey said ‘sorry channel 7’ & they all laughed

I think Fox would of also had SL v Aus as their main channel Fox Cricket & Women’s Teay would of been on another Fox Sports channel

They asked Heather Knight if fitness was an issue within the team and a reason as to why they lost so badly and she said no it wasn't but I don't know why we lost so badly.

I can tell you right now the fitness of the English team certainly contributed to them losing so perhaps they do need to work on it more.

I went to the ODI at Junction Oval, sitting in one of the old stands that's side on to the pitch

I was amongst randoms and we raised the point you did above about her front leg as that was really noticeable from our vantage

With Bell & Sciver-Brunt you could see their front leg bracing & them going over the top of it, but with Filer she was sliding on the front foot more often than not and it doesn't look a safe or comfortable action

Everytime Filer fell over that match, her, Knight, Sciver-Brunt etc would look at the pitch and the ground staff even attended to it a few times - there was over 92 overs bowled that match, it wasn't the pitch that was the issue

At some stage yesterday she bowled 120.2km which is currently the quickest ball of the match & clearly they like her for her pace, but someone/s have to work on her bowling stride as she looks like she could seriously hurt herself at some stage
yeah spot on. pretty ridiculous watching her fall over again and again.

coaches or captain need to stop her before she injured herself.

with how many channels they have, split screen as an option would be nice.

I had one on my tv one on my phone.

They are definitely collectively unfit as a team.
It's a touchy subject but it's very noticeable .
They skill level is less than Australia , but it falls away quickly.

If your running the Woman's program I would be getting a HP fitness coach in or changing the one you have .

Watching her 120 should be pretty much the norm or thereabouts .
She loses so much momentum in delivery and every ball looks a little different .
Again the need to invest in a good coach as you don't get too many girls who can roll them down at that pace .

Brett lee was able to point out in 5 secs what Filer needed to work on with her run up, Makes you wonder if the coaches are scared to suggest changing her action or she doesn't want too?

My un trained eye ash gardner can work on her action with her left hip but she's been so dam successful bowling wise (not wbbl) never would

Having one of them on 7Two and one on Mate the whole time would have been an easy solution, given they were never going to move the news, etc.
"Primary" channel doesn't mean much any more. Ever since the analogue channels got switched off in some ways, although habits and expectations linger.

I have Foxtel and just been looking at 7s TV guide for today which hasn't been updated to reflect no cricket

Coverage for the women's test "was" scheduled to start on the primary channel, then goes to 7Flix for 30minutes at 3:30pm and finally to 7Two at 4pm for the remainder the days play

The mens test "was" scheduled to start on the primary channel at 3:30pm, get's moved at 5:30pm to 7Mate for the rest of the day so that 7 can show the following on their primary stations - Border Security, News, Australian Idol & Billy Joel at Madison Square Gardens

So, they've really shafted by teams with their scheduling this week as at least one of the matches should have had priority over some of those other shows

Michael Vaughan wrote an article that's been published in The Telegraph - in it he asks some questions that need to be addressed, but also raises some really good points including the following two paragraphs:

Clare Connor has been in charge of English women’s cricket for more than a decade and must share the responsibility for the culture of this team. England got rid of the past two coaches, it is whispered, because the players did not like their methods; they pushed them too hard. They appointed Lewis to make it a more fun, relaxed environment. Yes, he has made mistakes in Australia but it cannot be just down to him when the past two coaches have been sacked for trying to make it a tougher, more professional environment...

...The group needs a shock. If it means getting rid of two or three players to make a statement and send shockwaves through the team, then do it. If England do nothing, other than change a coach or captain, then the next time they play Australia it will all happen again. Australia are not going to drop their standards so it is down to England to raise theirs, otherwise what’s the point?

He (along with plenty of commentators) have questioned the decision by the team to send out Ryana MacDonald-Gay to talk to the media following the disastrous Day 2 - Ryana is 20yrs old, the youngest member of the team & least experienced, but she's the one they sent out after what was arguable their worst day of the series, at least in the field

I also agree with the points he raises throughout the article regarding Lewis & Knights - they've appointed Lewis for a reason, seemingly because the team didn't like being held to a higher standard by previous coaches, and Knights is one who actually wore her heart on her sleeve this tour & seemed to give a shit out there. If the changes that are made are simple one or both of those two moving on from their current roles, but there's no real look into the culture of the team and how they need to change that aspect of things, where are the improvements going to come from?
