Fairly spectacular setting this week at Utah. Not so sure about the course. What I am sure about is the continuing idiocy of the PGAT. This week they thought it would be a good idea to issue a sponsor's invite to local champ Jay Don Blake, aged 65. Guessing the criteria was someone from Utah, who used to be a PGA player.

Has hit drives so far at around 280 yards which sounds pretty decent for a 65 year old. Until you realise that the course is over a mile above sea level.

The wind is blowing in Vegas! It is carnage on the course. No spectators allowed, groups taking over 3 hours to play 9 holes.

Looks like a normal day at The National

Decent finish in Las Vegas this morning. JT Poston gave a good illustration of the pressure that comes with a finish. 3 shot lead with 2 to play. Misses his 3'11" put for par. Lead down to 2. Ghim, his pursuer, pours on the pressure by knocking his approach stiff and then making his bird. JT had to sink a 4ft par putt to win, which he did.

Won't go down in the record books as anything special, but the pressure was there.

Am starting to like the Fall Schedule - although I don't think wins should give entry to Augusta, etc. Reckon they would be better if the Top 50 weren't allowed to play in them.

Pretty unfair that a number of players on the bubble got into the ZOZO on sponsor exemptions. No cut event with guaranteed Fedex points.
Zac Blair at 118
Joel Dahmen at 129
Gary Woodland 169

You wouldn't be too happy if you were tipped outside by Dahmen this weekend.

Agree with that.

Woodland needs a season to regain his confidence and swing not on the PGA tour. Dahmen is a meme too.

Wonder if the PGAT is feeling a little more pressure right now. The Shriners won't be sponsoring next year's Vegas tournament(ending an 18 year run) and it looks like ZOZO isn't renewing part their now-expired 6 year run. Two naming sponsors in a row.

Who would have thought that asking for more money from sponsors, whilst giving them a lesser "Fedex Fall" field, and lowered TV ratings, might see a few drop off?
