In Australian golf, Elvis Smylie has knocked out cam smith and co to win the Australian PGA Championship, how bloody good, the biggest win of his pro career, so happy, well done!
Yeah, its been a long year, its funny isn't it, with three holes to play it was really between those two leaders, then both made a bogey on the last hole and Mav plays an unbelievable shot to 5 1/2 feet , drains it and finally wins on the PGA Tour, yet I've had guys that have had three/four shot leads and lost or even with the back 9 to play been a couple of shots in front and in control only to lose, as they say GOLF is a funny game. Well done to Mav and see what 2025 can bring him.McNealy! Finally, TTS salutes!

Yep - Mav was the one who executed his approach, the others couldn't. As Zinger would say, "Prashure".Yeah, its been a long year, its funny isn't it, with three holes to play it was really between those two leaders, then both made a bogey on the last hole and Mav plays an unbelievable shot to 5 1/2 feet , drains it and finally wins on the PGA Tour, yet I've had guys that have had three/four shot leads and lost or even with the back 9 to play been a couple of shots in front and in control only to lose, as they say GOLF is a funny game. Watching replays of Australian Open and Australian PGA which has Peter Donegan commentating. I was wondering if any body knew if he does sports commentary still.
The golden days of the Aus Open commentary were with Sandy Roberts and Jack Newton at the helm and whispering Pat Welsh on the fairways.
Warren Smith and Paul Gow (coupled with Nick O'Hern continually talking about himself) really doesn't compare. They unfortunately refuse to shut up!
It’s actually Smith, O’Hern and Ali Whitaker commentating with Gow on course.
I reckon they are pretty good - especially O’Hern.
Cam Smith didn’t miss when he had a crack at the courses being set up soft.

re Cam Smith, there are plenty of people in furious agreement. Problem is that not too many will state publicly what the agenda is. Say one thing on camera, another off camera.
As a member of KH I was a little wounded but the reality is that the course is set up for men, women and all abilities and 2 of those categories would get blown away if the course was set up as it should be.
They were significantly harder and quicker for our club champs a few weeks ago. Rain is a factor obviously, but they were soft beforehand.
Might be a dumb question- but why would the women be blown away in tougher conditions?
I’ll be in the Golf Australia Suite on Sunday. Will make some inquiries. See if they kick me out.

It's a shot shape, spin sort of argument. The girls don't tend to put the sort of work on the ball to stop it on hard greens.
I know that sounds sexist and I don't have definitive proof to back it up, but it seems a commonly held view.
Maybe they are hitting longer irons/hybrids in to greens...not sure.
Saudi Invitational on this week. Hopefully Cam Smith an have a bit better luck. Plenty of the LIV guys playing too
I don't think we can in Oz - unless you have a VPN and know how to use it - which is far beyond my technological skills.anyone know how to watch this 'showdown' business?
