Worst Coach your club has ever had?

Royce Hart

Royce Hart

Would be in the top 20 worst coaches of all time. Set an already struggling club back years.
Sad but regrettably true.

As for Richmond, Robert Walls shouldn't have been allowed in the suburb of Richmond let alone the club!

Guy McKenna, gone to coach cricket now or something after losing his gig as a Bombers assistant.
I recon the best the Suns have ever looked was the first half of 2014 under McKenna, and then injuries took their toll, I think they were moving in the right direction and have gone no-where since. McKenna had a better win loss record than Eade which is quite remarkable considering the amount of kids he blooded in the first few years.

Adelaide - Robert Shaw

Brisbane - Justin Leppitsch

Carlton - Wayne Brittain

Collingwood - Tony Shaw

Essendon - James Hird

Fremantle - Damian Drum

Geelong - Struggling here?? Any suggestions cats fans?

Gold Coast - N/A

GWS - N/A

Hawthorn - Peter Schwab

Melbourne - Mark Neeld

North - Dean Laidley

Port - Matthew Primus

Richmond - Danny Frawley

St Kilda - Tim Watson

Sydney - Gary Buckenara

West Coast - Ken Judge

Western Bulldogs - Peter Rohde

Additional thought:

- Michael Voss “unlucky” not to be Brisbane’s, he was bad.

- Mark Neeld is the worst of the ones listed above and by a fair margin.

- May be slightly harsh on Laidley at North, I thought he was a decent match day coach, but way too one dimensional and his recruiting and drafting were terrible.

- James Hird gets the nod at Essendon not for anything to do with the ASADA thing. Even without that, Essendon were mostly rubbish under his coaching.

- Royce Hart may have been worse at the bulldogs but as it was before my time and he had a mostly rubbish list, Rohde gets the nod.

Hird might have not been the best coach but players would have run through a brick wall for him.

Probably. Tbh I can't even remember that much on Drum even though I was about 19-20 at the time.

That Harvey interview is the worst I've ever seen from a coach. The what does Freo stand for? thing was a bit of a pointlessly vague question but answering with "Whatever it wants to" lol.

And stuff like playing Pav in the midfield heaps trying to shorten his career and letting Peter Bell commute from Geraldton, I mean really?
Connolly?

Ken Judge is the worse results based but that little shitzen period landed us out next flag.

Somewhat controversial but I’d Worsefold is our worst given the keys he was given. Already had Kerr, Cox, Embly, Judd, Glass and cousins at the club when he arrived. Only eeked out one flag with a once in a generation kind of midfield. Ignored off field problems that came back to bite on the ass. As well as been a tactically inept coach and developing the massive boys culture that preceded the party boi era. Great leader of man and grateful for the flag but massively underwhelming in the grand scheme of things
No.

He took us to two grandfnals. Won one. Had us playing finals 8 of 12 seasons. Rebuilt a list and got it back to a prelim in 2011. No was his he our worst coach.

Damien Drum!

13 wins in 53 games....an absolutely useless muppet!
Until Lyon, freo had a pretty unlucky run. I know how visionary Neesham was as a WAFL coach, but his list management and MC decisions were breathtakingly bad.

The question I guess is who was to blame, club management or the head coaches they hired. The Steves definitely turned things around at Freo.
