Laverton seem to be pushing again with recruits. Losing AJ is a big loss however they’ve just posted that they’ve signed five lads from Altona. Don’t know much about them but a few have played some senior footy by the looks of it.
Just heard Laverton have landed a huge recruit. Big fella who can play ruck or key position. Will easily be favourite to win the comp medal. They must be seriously cashed up..

Really hope it works out for them, unlike their 2 big names last season that didn't.

Advertising for U18s and Thirds teams now, so some momentum at the club.

Good to see.

Yeah but if talking about Klix from last year apparently is playing again.
If they get an 18s up that would be huge for sustainability. Believe they will get a 3rds side up..

Why didn’t Klix finish the season last season, maybe he was injured? Either way good to see him go around again for the Magpies. Also like I mentioned previously. Laverton had no juniors from probably 2008-2023. They’re looking at under 9,10, 12 and 18 this season. The committee have worked incredibly hard and they should be very proud.

I have known for a few months that this was happening. Found out from a north sunshine committee member. Both north sunshine and glen orden will be fielding a 3rds side
Confirmed today in the local rags.. Div 2 is now a ten team competition.

Be interesting to understand what support the league is providing to these pledging clubs.

So many clubs have disappeared from the league in recent times.

Hoping Glen Orden and North Sunhine aren’t stuck in thirds limbo for too long. Both proud and older clubs that I hope to see back in the main competition soon.

Can someone please explain what the THIRDS COMPETITION is and is there a [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji6] fixture available. Thanks.

An open age competition played on a Friday night. I believe it was previously called club[emoji[emoji6]]s

Gives more players an opportunity to play football especially for those that need to work or attend family duties on Saturdays.
It’s growing year on year, the EDFL have two divisions and circa [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] teams playing in the thirds competition
