WRFL Div. 2 Season 2008 and Beyond

This weeks round 2 game between Coburg District's and Western Magpies has been transferred to Western Magpies's home game due to poor state of ground at Cole Reserve (sic)

This happened quite alot last season i think the Western Magpies played there first 5 games at home due to the condition of other grounds.

I would say at the moment our ground would be third best in divvy 2 behind Nth Footscray and Parkside

Any further use of unacceptable language, threats or any attempts to uncover someone's identity will result in an automatic Red Card followed by a removal of ID for a second offence.. Already 3 members have been banned indefinately, others will follow.

we watered it from 7 till 10 before the game v coburg and it wasnt too bad.........soft under foot

i think it is goin to be a good year at parkside maybe another cup on the mantle piece..

id rather stay on a h/b/f.......as wing you have to go both ways.......easier just to go the 1.......

Council dragging their feet IMO but are now playing catch up - resowed it 2 weeks ago and are now watering overnight 3 or 4 times weekly Council confident will be ready for R3 Parkside game...at the moment still pretty hard under foot though grass coverage is good.

Its pretty pointless banning people indefinitely as they can just sign up again under a different alias, fair enough something has to be done about the language, threats etc...... but bragging that 3 have gone when I bet their are 3 new members isn't going to solve the problem.

Agree with your team selections but you dont class a 5 goal win to heights as a close match?

I think the Parkside match will be of a similar margin in Parkside's favour.

North Footscray got rolled by about 2-3 goals today against Heights. Were 4 goals down at quarter time and it probably could have been about 8-10 goals if Heights kicked accurately. Showed a bit of ticker to come back and draw level at half time, but Heights had bit too much run at the end. Scrappy affair and I think both teams will get better. IMO best for North was Gath in the ruck. Others played well in patches but I reckon we will get better with a few to come back in. For Heights I thought the cousins (can't remember their names) no.6 and 8 (great pair of orange boots on) were good. Also Weston had a big last quarter to take the game away from the Devils.

Heard Deer Park beat Parkside and Laverton beat Coburg Districts! Would like some feedback from Weapons, CReserve and Hammertigers. Appears it may be another long year for Districts, but it is only round 2!

yes rd1 felt very good going into parkside's clubrooms the whole team infact drinking their beer.....only 8 or 9 parkside players went back into their rooms very interesting.......dont worry about that.........no comment from me lets see what the parkside boys have to say after we beat them on their HOME turf..........even better we had 18 players from 1/2 time onwards......

put it this way the top 5 teams from last year would beat parkside......all old cant run undicipline and dont play for each other.....there gun f/ward cant kick he did mark a heap but kicked very very poorly.....looking at last years benchmark heights still in the comp this year im tipping 10 goals plus they would beat parkside by..........

so its not all parkside's way in div 2......and we have proven that.........

to be honest the bottom couple will struggle the rest game on.......div 2 has picked up heaps...........my opinion...........

Far from a sore loser.. I played in the early game.
I left at half time in the ones thinking that they were taking control.
Also as you should already know about having kids that you need to get home to relieve the wife......

Anyway you can right Parkside off but they had a bad day out which anyside can have. They will take alot from the loss. Im sure Tuesdays training will be fun

s h * t stirrers from other clubs in Div 2 that are making new identities (Must be very bored at work making new Id's all day).

As a former SHFC player moving to Parkside I can assure you that we know that Flags aren't handed out to clubs who have dropped from Div 1 (Just ask weapons), nor has anyone spoken about winning it easy, This weekend will serve as a huge wake up call.

Again make your assumption but I wouldn't recommend taking a Parkside game lightly.
