Pretty sure they haven't lost anyone of note and picked up a couple more senior players when other clubs are losing their better ones. I would have them as favourites along with Parkside.

I think their draw is a bit tougher this year. Having them as favourites is laughable at this stage. They'd have to perform well over a couple of seasons before you can say that they will follow on.
I hear North Footscray may be a bit of a surprise packet. Don't discount Wyndhamvale as the rumour is that they have signed Stephen Milne :D

I notice Nth Foots have 5 clearances put in from Hoppers Crossing. Can someone clarify the ruling on how many players can go from the same club to the same club? I thought it was 4, but not sure. Would feel dirty if you were the player left out if that was the case.

They also had a couple go from Hoppers to Werribee then to Nth Foots. Lot of ex Hoppers players there.

Yea pretty sure it is 4 though from the one club. Will be interesting

Id like to see the combined age of all those putting in the clearance!

Some pretty old blokes on that list but they will still be good players in Div 2. Using Mitch as an example, even if he was on a pie diet all summer he would be goood for 40 - 70 goals this year (as long as he could jog out to the goal square).

On the number of clearances I am pretty sure that the rule only comes into play if the club objects so if Hoppers is happy to let them go they can take as many as they want

Not sure the four player rule even exists, but if so then Westmeadows may struggle to get all the Yarraville Boys accross the line as well.

Certainly shaping as an interesting Divvy 2 year with some quality players coming on lists. Good for the competition and obviously teams very eager to avoid relegation to Divvy 3. I will re-assess my ladder forecast from earlier in the year and state Glenorder to drop down a bit with departures. Still confident West Footscray & Caroline Springs will be the improvers.

Rule only exists within the same league.

Westmeadows can take as many as they like from Yarraville.

True but the WRFL make up the rules to suit who ever so it wont make any difference.
Hoppers wont be that disappointed as those clearances are for players in their mid 30s and over. I hear Hoppers are trying to create a "winning culture" now which is why Mitchell wasnt reappointed so those players dont fit the new profile.

Should be an interesting year watching both ends of the ladder hopefully devils can get their act together abit after last year news is they have signed a couple not sure on names but think they were werribee pedigree at least training there anyway.... as well as some ex hoppers boys I have heard Rob Cavka is a solid footballer and will be a good pickup think they have two praccy games away which will be a chance to have a look. Parkside are all the rage they have been attracting some quality players and heard they signed or are about to sign dyson stevens ex DP and that they signed Jimmy Ryan which if it's true is a great get they might be the team to beat hearing that GO have dropped off. Springs apparently have picked up a couple and heard they are going to be big improver and should push finals apparently signing some div 1 players from Yarraville and DP. Falcons are always up their havn't heard alot but always competitive and anything less than finals would be disappointing. Manor Lakes will be strong another year developing their kids will have them as a huge prospect for the flag and have picked up a couple of handy local footballers a couple from Altona I believe. Braybrook have signed Gary Bradford from the country a pretty handy ruck men who will improve them immensely as well as some EDFL boys. Overall the comp this year sounds like its on the improve and good to see the WRFL get their act together and finally get a third division.

Kretiuk is wanting to develop and keep a hold of the Hoppers juniors (finally). He wants to give games to local boys rather than spending too much money on big name players and shutting the young fellas out.

I agree its great to play the juniors and not spend money but at the end of the day you also need a great mix with juniors and top senior players to make it happen. Looking at clearances there are quite a few experienced players leaving hoppers and you dont want to put the kids at the deep end specially coming up against sides like Deer Park Spotswood etc

I think a lot of those experienced blokes are past it though. I don't think they are too bad off. Mind you I haven't been down there this preseason

I wouldn't say it's laughable, as pen and paper said if they have recruited well and not lost any players they are only 9 points off a grand final spot, there teams age is in the right age bracket and the boys from as much as I know have played together for many years.
But with the drop off of players from GO its a 2 horse race until the season starts and then it might all change.

I crunched some numbers on here last year some time and they only really had Parkside's measure. WV and Orden dealt with them fairly easily. Had a pretty easy draw last year, being the news kids on the block. I'm ok with being proven wrong but I think that last season only places them in the 4 rather than true premiership contenders.

Everyone got dealt with by GO haha
But only time will tell

did anyone happen to check out the practice match between tarneit and east sunbury?

We did well! Was a very good run for us at the Titans, highlighted a few areas we want to work on which we will over leading up to the season!

Our seniors performed well which was great signs and we managed to recruit a few guys who came along to watch from other WRFL sides who liked what they saw, which is great for us as a new club.

We were missing a few senior players aswell due to work commitments and valentines day dates (those guys have been fined by the leadership group already! Haha) which will structure us up well when they're in the side.

Overall was a great game and good hit out for us!
