Any reasin why he resigned so quickly after the season??

Big disagreement between the coach and a reserves player not wanting to play seniors. Reserves players backed the individual and said they would not play if he was promoted. Coach wouldn't move on his position. Club had to step in and allow the player to play reserves to avoid a forfeit (which would put them in front of the WRFL Board again). Coach felt he had lost the support of the Club and resigned immediately. Players trying to control the Club and force the Board into a difficult position. Word is he was gone anyway and this saved the tough conversation.

Absolutely ML rested players. How can ML beat NP by 70pts. Next week NP beat AV by 75pts. Then AV beat ML by 17pts????? Watch ML put on a clinic this week against the blue and white witches hats.

You seem to know a lot about newport mr "lethal weapon". Has it been quiet down there at Squires Loft? For a "neutral" that's not from any club, all your posts seem to be about newport and very well documented inside information which not many people at the club know about. Enjoy your preseason and keep munching on them steaks

Deinflty not true, had one player out due to illness who's back for this week

Albanvale match up well against ML, I expect it to be close till 3/4 time and then ML to win by 16 points

16 points was 40 points off, not a bad guess. Heard the Monar lakes vs Newport was a great tussle, 6 point win to Monar.

would have been 100 in good conditions & straight kicking...Albanvale couldn't take a trick with injuries all year & same yesterday..credit to them making finals.

maybe if these so called club people went to a club function or attended a game they would know about these things instead of feeding articles to the herald sun

I'm watching a friend play in the grand final on Sunday in the Div2 seniors. He said this will be the 5th time they are playing against their opposition for the year. I then had a look and realised that there are only 6 teams in this division but 8 in wrfl division 3? Why are there more sides in the lower division?
This has probably been mentioned many times before on this forum but it must be very repetitious for players to play against the opposition so often in the one season.

Not ideal and hopefully a one-off. There will probably be 8 and 8 (or 8 and 7) next season.

Was meant to be 7 in D2 this season but Glenorden pulled out immediately before the season and not enough time to re-organise. At least 1 new team next year, hopefully 2 which will help with numbers.

WRFL D3 currently a mixture of many new start up clubs not ready for D2 and older, struggling clubs not good enough for D2. Currently seems to be a dearth of clubs between D1 and D3 standard.

Will they again request to stay down in div3 and the league will agree to it?
Couldn't possibly, surely? The League will be bringing Point Cook into Div 2, and Glenorden most likely into Div 3, with all relegation and delegation in play, except either West Footscray to stay in D2, or Tarneit to go up as well as Pakside, should see Div 1 with 10 Teams, Div 2 with 8 Teams, and Div 3 with 8 Teams
