Tips for the weekend & Tuesday:

Braybrook d Roadrunners
Tarneit d Sun-Lakers (100 points)
Wyndham d Lavo (10 goals +)
Parkside d Heights

Could be 4 one sided games this week! Good luck to all - except North Sunshine!

What a cowardly and weak act by any person. Another reason why so many clubs in the WRFL need to smarten up the way they are run and what behaviour they accept

Hopefully as a club Lavo learns from this and they become a stronger club with greater governance of alcohol consumption and player conduct. From what I understand they have lost a few players this year and one would assume this type of unsocial activity as something to do with it (it certainly wouldn't do them any favours to say the least)!

Have the points been allocated for the games that were called off?
I see suns/brook game deemed a draw and Parkside have the win
But what about the tarniet/heights game? Has tarniet been handed the win official?

Round 2:
Wyndham by 80
Parkside by 50
Tarneit by 50
North Sunshine by 80

Regardless of what happened between the Wyndham Suns and Braybrook there should never be a fight between players, coach staff, supports or others off field at all. Go have your scuffles in another sport other than aussie rules, otherwise leave your aggression and anger on the field and not off it. It sets a bad example for our younger generation, not like they have enough bad influences through various forms of media anyway!

Obviously a Suns person who can't let go.. it's over, focus on this week and the next game! Judging by your tips/margins your footy knowledge is suspect too

Has anything been done about it?

Get off your high horse champ , yes lavo don't have a great track record for off field issues , but either does braybrook and yet you are taking a pot shot at them the week after you had a drunken dust up at a club function , which ended with somebody suffering a broken nose .
So give it a rest

Probably just the normal throw away lines.
"Thats footy."
"Its nowhere near as bad as it used to be".
"Boys will be boys".

Provides a good laugh. But you cant help but worry for the young kids around.

I really worry about the head in the sand old school bogan mentality which seems to justify acts that if committed in the street, would end in criminal proceedings.

A lot of these individuals who quietly condone these acts walk around with the notion that its the tough western suburbs local footy. When in reality its gutless piss weak actions that will steer parents in choosing another sport.

I can see it now. In 10-15 years time when junior footy is having to revamp as grid games because participation numbers are down, these same people who are part of the problem now will be blaming the same parents who decided basketball or soccer was a better option to protect thier kids whilst introducing them to sport.

The minority of dickhead players, supporters and hangers-on are doing more damage to the game than the majority of those doing great things for the game.

The sad reality is, the way this league has governed for so long, it has created a monster that they are now too terrified of to address.

When has the WRFL sent a clear message of no tolerance to thugish behaviors? They have passed up every opportunity. The tail is wagging the dog, with the league continual bowing to clubs.

So WRFL, are you just going to stand by and let it continue to go to shit or are you actually going to fix this competition, which has massive potential?

Lets put down the major issues:
- rapid expansion which is unsustainable with many new and old clubs fighting over the same players, sponsors and local council support.
- frequent violent incidents across the divisions (mainly div 2 & 3) that are never dealt with. God forbid someone gets really really hurt or worse due to a thug action. Then fingers of blame will be at the league for not taking earlier adequate action to eradicate such things. In fact the lack of action is inviting it to happen.

- catering for the worst teams in the league by having a lop sided division stucture.

- picking and choosing which clubs to help and who to disregard. (Parkside from div 1 to div 3) making Sunny Heights cop a year of floggings without offering them the same.

- allowing clubs to pick and choose if they go up after winning a flag. Im sorry, but if you were willing to pony up a fortune to win a div 2 flag, and leave your club with next to nothing the year after, then thats your clubs fault, not the WRFLs. How many clubs have fallen away because they were made to stay up when finishing last and copping an extra year of beltings? Nth Sunshine are still picking up the pieces.

The league needs to dig its heels in a bit and stand for something, because at the moment it stands for nothing.

Fix those things, support all clubs and watch it grow.

Stop typing here and go do something then?

Watched Sanctuary Lakes v Tarneit.Tarneit won easily and if not for poor kicking and some selfish play would of won by even more.Tarneits no 4 stood out well above anyone else and could certainly play at least a division higher.Lakes fought it out and I also thought the lady and portly fella umpiring done a very good job.Cant see either side being able to contain Cloke as nobody playing today will be able to compete with him.Crowd was certainly respectful today however with the open ground policy and supporters able to byo I can see it leading to poor displays of manners on occasions.
