July is close enough to get a thread going for the best race in the country

Clear and obvious number 1 seed this far out is VIA SISTENA ($11) and should be favourite for the race. Runner up in the Champions Stakes and has brought that form here with an easy Ranvet win followed up by a complete forget run in the Queen Elizabeth where she had none due to the ride.

ROYAL CHAMPION ($26) interesting runner that we haven't seen yet. International form would be reasonable if he ran to that level and connections have a really good recent track record with imports so has to be respected.

BROADSIDING ($10) looks the most likely one to come through of the 3yos but impossible to take that sort of price about QLD winter 2yo form particularly when the likes of Linebacker and Traffic Warden are 5x the price.

Couldn't back PRIDE OF JENNI ($5.50) at the odds. Looks well unders based on the Queen Elizabeth win which is an obvious outlier with obvious reasons. The fact she is going to be targeting the King Charles which is run just a week before the Cox Plate not ideal for me either.

Docklands for OTI a pass for me. Just doesn't look to be the level required for a Cox Plate.

Almost no chance any of the current raiders at the top of markets are even entertaining coming out so putting a line through them for now.

Fangirl, Celestial Legend, Mr Brightside all 3 that will be targeting the less than ideally place King Charles as well.

Without a Fight returning from injury a hard pass.

If they couldn't catch Jenni on the big tracks with long straights like Flemington and Randwick, how they going to do it around the Valley? Maher is setting her for this. She has the breeding to run strong 2000m.
Happy to take the $5.50.
Who do you double her with in the Cup?

Well for one you hope the other jockeys won’t gift it to her again. But also she isn’t being set for this really. Connections have already confirmed the King Charles will be her main target which being a mile race in Sydney a week before the Cox Plate is not ideal

Thats not how racing works. She got beaten by Cascadian in the Australian cup because the jockeys were smarter. She will disappoint a lot in Spring. she is not that good

THis far out? She's $5.50 just to make it to the race

Docklands likely going to the Juddmonte before coming out here is great news. Will get a very clear idea of his level after running in a race like that over the 2000m

Thoughts on Royal Champion?
Lightly raced and seems to mix form but hits his targets. Been in Aus all this year? With A and S Freedman who seem to train the imports better than most.
Maybe Champions Stakes on last day of Cup carnival is it's target?

Would want to see a run first as it's been here awhile and had a minor set back. They were talking about Champions Mile being a target a month or so back. Previously had been talking Cox Plate though

Wasn't a complete in the bin run but nothing to get too excited about with Docklands last night.

Good news to hear that Prognosis is likely coming out now though. Complete barrier rogue but anything near his best would still be too good for what we have

I like that he brings Romantic Warrior form, nice little connection there.

Just on Prognosis and jumping poorly. If he does come, there could be a half a lap separating him and Jenni at stages 😆

It's probably going to be pretty hairy for anyone who backs him.

Surely you'll get a bit of a price because of this?

Nah wont be getting much of a price if he is here. He missed the kick, had to race wide and still only went down a neck to RW in Hong Kong

I remember watching that race in a pub in Tassie in April. Sustained a long run in that race, went around all of them, almost.

Is Jenni even heading to the Cox?
