WTF is with chicks these days?

Yes, another pissmoanshitmeh thread about chicks and their pitfalls.

But I mean come on, why is it that chicks these days are never normal?

There is always SOMETHING that is an issue, or a problem that might put a wall up between us.

Examples of said issues include:

3 chicks in the past year all telling me a suspiciously similar story about how they were r*ped when they were 15

recent ex is only 21 and on anti-depressants...

another chick has an abusive ex bf who, if is to meet me, might not end up well for me (despite not taking into consideration that I've seen this bloke and I know I would kick his ass.)

not to mention the frustrating task with 99.5% of chicks you chat up these days of having to battle the "oh but all you guys are just in it to **** me around and treat me like crap" stuff they bring up before they even get to know you.

Is a mass cull in order, or can we find some chicks with clean slates?

I'm one that agrees that the absolute majority of generation y females are not worthy of respect, however there is nothing wrong or abnormal with this example.

A bit of exposure to the health care system would lead everyone to realise that depression is rife in the community, and does affect both males and females of almost any age.

It's true that there are a lot of females around this age with depression, but it's not as though it's a rarity for people that don't fit this demographic.

I obviously don't know the girl in question, but from this quote, there is nothing strange about that at all.

Well in the defence of the gen y females, we're not all such utter drama queens!

Generally if a girl is going on about how depressed she is/ showing off certain scars to anyone who'll listen, shes in it for the attention and sympathy. In my experience its the quiet reluctant ones who are normally facing real issues.

Also everyone has a bad ex experience, its easier to just not get into it...

And lastly, guys are normally only there with a single motivation... I suppose this weeds out the genuine ones from the one night stands...

ok, for the whole, oh em gee dale thomas is so hawt!!!! stop dating 12 year olds and it wont be an issue. also, im so sick of everyone blaming everything on "generation y" and how were the worst generation ever. yes we can be lazy selfish etc, but thats not because there is something wrong with our generation - its because were YOUNG. I'm sure my parent were the same when they were my age, and probably my grandparents as well.

Also, from the stories the OP described, maybe you're just not hanging out with the right kind of people. I'm 20 and none of my friends would be stupid enough to make up stories about being r*ped, but maybe we were just raised better.

Depression is also a pretty serious issue. I went to an all girls school and there were a few girls who commited suicide. I dont see what is that strange about someone being on anti depressents when their young. The pressure placed on girls to look and act a certain way is huge and when you dont feel that you can live up to these expectations it can be horrible. Its no surprise that you have met one person who takes anti depressants.

And yeah you may be a nice guy, but tbh there are so many out there who are not. A thread about what is wrong with guys today would be much more apt i think. If you're going to generalise all girls as being crazy attention seekers, then dont get mad when we generalise you all to be only interested in using us.

RE the depression thing, if you haven't had any experience with it it's probably a touch understandable why you wouldn't understand it.

I accept some people may have some genuine cases.

My point of frustration with it is I don't understand how someone with what appears to be a normal life, normal job, normal friends, normal family (caring one at that) can have such trouble living said normal life. But I guess that's a whole different discussion all together?

Most people that experience depression will have all this. But not get enjoyment out of it. Only the very severe cases will have a noticeable change
