Very contradictory story wise. There were plenty of other routes they could have taken it. Sensitivities around Owens contract coming up or something along those lines perhaps.
It seemed a bit off at the time of the promo.

The story itself is fascinating and Owens does have legit gripe about feeling betrayed by Orton & Rhodes.

The rumoured match at Crown Jewel doesn't interest me.

Keep the Survivor series match as the main face off.

I agree. I’d prefer it’s saved. It’s perhaps a way for the numbers game to again be in the favour of the new Bloodline, leading to hopefully a way back for Sami to get involved soon.
