Jordan wasn't charismatic at the start but before he got injured and he was doing the delusional son of Kurt Angle gimmick I thought he was pretty good, his acting skills came a long way and I reckon he'd have become a great heel once they transitioned him into that role. Gable was originally more charismatic but Jordan passed him after a while.
You missed the bit about Gable not getting the opportunity

In a world where a large majority of internet fans are into the guys who put on the best matches and care more about the workrate, yeah I'm absolutely in the minority. How good a guy is in the ring doesn't matter to me, obviously I wanna see a good match, but I'd rather see a 5 minute match with a great build up and great promos during the build than a 30 minute "barn-burner" with ok build. I'm mainly just more drawn to the better actors than the better in-ring guys.

Nail on the head for me. Totally agree.

Story and character

Maybe you should give movies a try?
I appreciate an alternative view as much as the next guy but your views are way out there MM. Like, way out there.

Way out there? Really? Maybe with the online vocal minority. I reckon the majority would agree, hence the decline in ratings and popularity since the WWE started catering more to the Smark Crowd. And it seems AEW has hit its peak since it really only books for the dirt sheet fans and has blown the hot debuts of Punk and Bryan.

Wrestling was at its peak popularity when larger than life characters and huge storylines were the focus. No doubt they would have to be able to ‘go’ in the ring, but that sure wasn’t the be all end all. That’s why I’m so happy NXT has changed its focus, as this will finally be able to create new stars that the WWE has lacked since it started more so featuring charisma vacuum indy wrestlers.

I can only imagine the outrage if the Austin beer truck segment happened with today’s crowd. They’d be an online uproar why Essa Rios and Dean Malenko weren’t given 30 mins to kick off Raw with no storyline

The thing is, that's exactly what internet fans were doing back in the day. Plenty of websites back in 1999 talking about Austin being boring and hogging up the main event scene while guys like Benoit, Guerrero and Malenko weren't getting main event pushes. Hell, the internet hated Hogan more than anything back in the day, they hated The Undertaker because he was too "cartoonish", the internet has always preferred workrate over characters.

I remember going back and in 1995 Meltzer's viewers voted Goldust as the worst gimmick and Hogan as the worst wrestler, that's all you need to know to not take them seriously.

Did Dunn have fall asleep on the soundeffect board or something during Pearce‘s botchy promo? Some of those “crowd“ sound effect going-insane cheers were out of control, and best part, ended instantly.

the whole segment was flipping rough, with Pearce having no idea what he wanted to say or project - and just watching Rey now backstage, it appears to be contagious. Not quite Steiners probability promo, but still lost the plot.

RAW is so shit. Cant believe they have their champion go up against a midget undercard guy and not dominate him. I reckon Gable had most of the offence and control throughout their match.
Whether it’s his fault or not, geez Big Es reign has been bland and lost.

And then we have survivor series with team SD taking on team former SD. 2 weeks build for what was once a big PPV.

Even KO, who’s doing his best, is running around wanting to be liked. Insane.

Kross was keeping you invested in Raw?
Even though his gimmick sucked I'd at least watch his segments because he's one of my favourites, and that last promo he did before being sent to Main Event until his release gave me some hope they were going the Devil's Advocate gimmick route with him. But alas, it never came to be.

I'm glad I stopped watching RAW, Kross and Lee were the only ones keeping me invested but once they got fired there was no reason to continue watching.

Huh? I like Lee and Cross but what was there to even be invested in with them? Orton, Riddle and AJ on the other hand has been decent. Agree about the rest though.

Nothing in particular, they were just two of my faves. Riddle and Orton are cool too though.

It's the slowest build ever between Orton and Riddle. Don't get me wrong, it's easily best the best thing on RAW, but it's always 1 step forward, 2 back.
Wasn't helped by Randys unexplained month or two off, but we're only just now moving their story forward with Riddle going full Leroy Jenkins on a weekly basis, and Randy refusing to back him up when he does.

I feel people overhyped how much people care about the workrate, sure it's popular with people online, but fans talking about it online in forums are likely in the minority. I guarantee most of the fans in attendance don't care for the most part about the in ring psychology of the wrestlers, they just wanna be entertained.

If all the fans cared about was good wrestling then Chad Gable would be one of the guys coming out to huge pops every week, but he gets crickets because he's boring outside of the ring.
That’s WWE’s fault, not Chad Gables. Once again they took a great in ring wrestler and turned him into ‘Shorty G’. When that’s the best a team of writers can come up with what chance does anyone stand. Adam Cole just the latest example of their ineptitude.

Whilst I was initially shocked both were released, I’ve come to understand the reasoning.

Lee looked out of shape, didn’t move the same and it seemed he wasn’t as athletic as when he was in NXT. Talked weird too

Kross, I originally thought was gonna be money, and was the most surprised. But he came across as pretty generic and I thought he got found out a bit without Scarlett.

Assume both were on decent coin, not much bang for buck.

Gable a solid tag team wrestler, and has value there, but never going to make it big as a singles star, regardless of gimmick, IMO.

Adam Cole is the size of a child

Never got the Keith Lee hype but was a fan of Kross and they ruined him badly.

There is way to much wrestling and wrestling content out there now, a lot of stuff has been stale a long time but having Raw, Smackdown, NXT 2.0, Main Event/205 Live ( IF you even bother watching) then Dynamite, Rampage, Dark, Dark Elevation, Impact and whatever else. That is so much content every single week its hard not to feel like everything is stale or not living up our expectations.

I enjoy good wrestling matches which is why I have enjoyed some AEW stuff especially with Danielson now but their roster is pretty damn generic in terms of entertainment. Guess I grew up with your characters like Razor, Diesel, Taker, Kane, Mankind Godfather, Bossman etc whether they had 5 star matches or not didn't matter at all they were larger than live characters.

Guess that is where the wrestling changed from being that over the top side of it like Andre, Headshrinkers, Earthquake/Typhoon, Godwins etc and morphed into a reality based one where majority of the wrestlers have generic " real " names and generic wrestling outfits.

I might be in the minority but i have a good chuckle and feel entertained by the 24/7 title segments. Shit doesn't have to be so serious all the time for me to enjoy a wrestling product.

Glad they finally turned Owens again, works so much better as a heel/tweener. Hopefully this push they've given him since the draft is regular thing to entice him to sign on to re-sign.

Harsh on "everybody's favorite" Nia Jax, She asks for an extension on her mental health leave and is then released. What kind of message does that send to the rest of the company?

If no one has realised by now that WWE treats their employees like dirt then not sure we’ve they have been

Good lord there are people on Twitter and Reddit crying because the crowd didn't react or give a shit about the Gable vs Big E match on RAW, really? You're mad because they didn't do a good enough job to get the crowd invested? Yeah the crowds suck to begin with but come on most crowds don't care about the actual matches, they care about the promos and storylines.

Gee people complain when WWE cut talent wonder what they are like with sporting franchises NFL and NBA seem to cut / trade players at will.
