Nose Guard is just your old 4-3. now they just call them both DT.

Bandit i think is like the dime when they line up at linebacker.

that hybrid S/LB is now called to as the star/star-backer.

in the past bandit has also been used for a DE/OLB mix which is now edge.

People always come up with new names for hybrid players because its rare to see players that only play that traditional role. You also dont see much base 3-4/4-3 played its almost always a extra LB or DB.


They could be running a 3-3-5 where the dragon is a hybrid nickle/slot/SS depending on the formations. im sure we will see some new formations.

Like early in the NFL season the Giants played the Packers with some crazy formations with like 6 in a 3 point stance.

Not a fan. if you fumble through the endzone it should be a turnover. thats why they have the batted ball rule.

Watching the opening game, Renegades vs Vipers.

Looks like the XFL took the gimmicky stuff from the 2020 league out. Very good product so far, no flags for hard hits and touchy stuff, and the game speeding along as a directive.

Crowds are there, and the standard of play is more advanced week one than USFL was last season, apparent teams have had a training camp together.

Still has broadcasting elements like mic'd up coaches and players, with the playcalls aired, conversations between players and coach all aired, etc

I like these small sized leagues, 8 teams, can easily watch two double headers Sunday/Monday and be up to speed with everything.

XFL has NFL affiliation and backed by Disney/ESPN. USFL Fox but not affiliated.

Still reckon itd be better if both spring leagues merged. XFC conference and USFC conference. 8 teams each.

Maybe the winner of each league in the meantime can have a Super Bowl in the meantime.
