I Love Carlton - however if we are going to lose, I hope Daniel Rich is best on ground by an absolute mile to stick it right up wayne hughes, brett ratten and the recruiting department.

And we leave Yarran out..................................

SHAME SHAME SHAME WAYNE HUGHES!!!!!!!!

That many exclaimation marks is the sure sign of someone with a few screws loose.

Did your mother drop you on your head when you were a baby and then drop kick you over the fence?

I think that you would be better off going and supporting Richmond or Collingwood... because I for one do not believe that you actually love the club you profess to love.

I agree Irish shouldnt be dropped but Cam did do some helpful things in his last 2 games
That was the huge problem - at best he does just enough to suck the MC into playing him again the following week, and then it all turns to crap in spectacular fashion. Whenever we play him, we're going into a game with lead in our saddlebags. The sleep-in was a godsend to us - it gave the MC a reason they couldn't ignore to bring back a genuine ruckmen.

I realise our key position stocks are desperate, but I'd rather go with a running tall like Bannister who can at least offer defensive pressure.

Some people never miss an opportunity to sink the boots in do they?

Why would he be dropped?

Hmmm, lets see.....maybe because he isn't playing as well as Garlett is in the same role.

Yarran was good last week, especially with his defensive work, but his finishing lacked polish and his decision making when he marked was too slow.

Of course this means we write him off for his career and start to bash the recruiters right.

I mean, don't give them any credit for picking up Garlett.......just focus on the imaginary negative of recruiting Yarran...........barrackers......who needs em.

Don't know Johnson's contract status but the bloke is margarine stacked 6ft high unfortunately. No resistance to the slightest pressure and won't be missed. The Human Twig owes us and Clokey might be a smokey :)o) on the night. Grigg has been disappointing but he has a chance now to lift it up a level. Umpie, bounce that ball...

Very dissapointed to with match committe again...

No Yarran or O'Halipin dissapoints me...they have an x factor which is something we need.

I thought Wiggins and Carrazzo are much more deserving to be dropped...

Yep, I'm all for backing Yarran in and maintain he was the right choice for us, but we were just as quick to praise him last week as many have been to can him. Couple of very basic mistakes by hand and missed one goal that a player of his ability should kick with his eyes closed. Good to see him get a bit of the ball and show some defensive pressure but not the brekthrough performance many proclaimed.

And whilst your spot on with dicking about on the mark too long it must be said not too many were creating space or demanding the ball.

? I was giving Yaz an option in the Lockett Stand.

Don't know how many times I have to tell a Carlton player to kick it to me

Some interesting moves - I think Irish will play if its known before the game that Bradshaw is a certain starter as Irish can play down back as well as forward and will provide Ratts with more flexibility.

I'm glad he's not playing finals. The blokes are playing have busted a gut to get there, and mostly play with heart and passion. Yarran however, does none of this, you don't reward a bloke who gives nothing back.

You're late for your own funeral and you ain't even dead yet

Some people probably need to open their eyes a little bit. It's one thing to put in an effort in a game, but you have to do it on the track as well.

I in no way want Yarran to go down as a failed draftee, but you don't include a guy who isn't in the best 22, in the best 22.

Bit harsh Tish he is a first year player and was great last week with his tackling and pressure.

The only Shame Shame Shame is on you ya Goose.

I know it's harsh, I just get told of certain aspects of the blokes, and they don't sit well with me. So I'm not a huge fan to be honest.

I've been told a few aspects of the bloke which I really like......, and I'm also probably better qualified to interpret them than you :):thumbsu:

I no longer have concerns in regards to his skill, talent, speed or potenial. He has ticked all those boxes.

Clearly needs to improve his endurance and work ethtic on the track to become elite. I got some mail about 6 weeks ago that said Ratts is always getting into him at training about working harder, far more than any other player. This seems to be starting to sink in after his chasing looks to have come on leaps and bounds since not being able to catch the waddling H Shaw to running down Mcleod and stiffy J on saturday.

There is no dramas either with the 2 goals that he missed on Saturdays game, I also recieved mail that Yaz regularly kicks Neons and does things you wouldn't believe at training.

All Yaz has to do is continue lift his work ethic off the track and he is a certainty to be a gun in the neon leon mold.

Interesting you bring up the notion of a breakthrough performance.

Every person (and player) has a different definition of a breakthrough performance and I'd like to hear yours.

I'd contend that the game against Adelaide was a breakthrough performance for him. That doesn't need to mean he gets 30 disposals, kicks 5 goals, etc. However, what we saw from Yaz against the Crows, in a team that was getting absolutely belted, was huge improvement. The biggest criticism of him is that he does not chase or work hard enough, yet one only need to re-watch the game (as difficult as that may be), to see that his efforts were so much better than in any previous senior game that he has played.

Yarran had 3 scoring shots, so if he had of kicked 1 or 2 more, would it have been viewed as an excellent performance? 2 or 3 goals in a half of football, because he faded a bit when no other Carlton player was in the game. I dare say that's an excellent effort. I guess that's what happens when people rely purely on the statistics that are put in front of them ;).

The importance of a breakthrough game is grossly overestimated. Most players don't go from terrible to amazing on the back of 1 performance. Rather, they start showing signs of improvement with every game, and Yarran's improvement from his last game (against Collingwood) to his game against the Crows, was huge.

I don't think he should have been dropped. IMO a very harsh call by the MC, because based on what we saw against the Crows, I really don't think Garlett offers us that much more than Yarran.
