Did Indigenous studies in year 10 as part of Humanities - first class the teacher went around the room asking everyone to tell an Aboriginal joke to 'get it out of our system'. This was only about 12 years ago.

I think you have your wires crossed
A lot of the book uses extracts from botanists and European explorers journals of what they witnessed when landing on Australian shores.
It’s funny that a race perceived as unorganised uncivilised unsophisticated had no inbreeding yet the same can’t be said for European royals!
Like trump supporters some people hang on to outdated misinformation because the truth is to uncomfortable to digest
