Agree, she did an ok job. Also really enjoyed Di Rolle who kept trying to tell interesting stories except Sam kept interrupting. Might be more interesting for the oldies like me though. Don going to school with her was a trip though!

He’s a bit of a strange cat.

One of the strangest…I had the honour/infamy of umpiring Warwick “the Wiz” Capper in his last ever game of organised football in the infamous Footy Show circus Caramut v Woorndoo in the MDFNL a few years back. You may recall the game snipits from the Footy Show (it is available on YouTube) but that is not the story.

Wiz and his crew (including Nixon) all well in their 50’s, rocked up dressed like teenage skate boarders (baseball caps on backwards) and carrying on like they‘s just had a few bags of nose candy.

It was like living in a real life version of the Wil Ferrell classic “Semi Pro”, Nixon and one of the other members of the posse stood out as people totally out of touch with reality, their interactions with the crowd of punters was a combination of sleaze and totally inappropriate comments.

Wiz performed like any 55 year old would playing in a senior competition - shambolically - he was cooked after the warm up.

At the Sportsman’s Night that followed he tried to flog all sorts of bullshit memorabilia. Fair to say I thought it was questionable at best.

Sounds like a made up rumour though and almost certain Rod Law is a lifelong bachelor.
