Your 2nd Favorite Club & Most hated Club

Didn;t realise so many other people hate Carlton, but good on them. They are the only club I truly despise. To me, John Elliot embodies the true spirit of Carlton. I think that pretty much sums it up. There is simply nothing to respect about the club. Although they have had some great players, the majority, like their flags, have been bought. It is the arrogant, top-end-of-town attitude that makes them deserving of everybody's contempt.

This was very well said. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Oh please...you tell me one club who never had breached the salary caps???The only Reason Carlton got busted was because of a whistle blower, someone didn't get paid enough and he sooked to the open arm of the afl invistigators. That '93 Essendon Team was soo "over paid" Luckily as per norm People kept their mouth shut, It soo easy for your Interstate Mob Not to tank when you get extra salary caps and a whole state priority, Darren Jarman Mother worked as a seceratary @ Adelaide Football Club and was Earning Much More than him  Explain That Because according to the adelaide football club back then she was "Worth Every Dollar" lmao, Not even Monica lewinsky was on $200,000+ wages back then.lol

Who the hell said anything about the salary cap?? Seems you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder (though given how many people are coming out to label Carlton their most hated, I guess I can see why). I was talking about the ethos of Carlton and their attitude towards the game, players, opposition, administration; the whole box and dice. The tanking and cheating is one manifestation of their beliefs, for sure, but only one.

I don't have a second side, I follow the Eagles and that's it. If I'm watching another game I barrack that it's a tough, hard contest.

As for most hated;

Freo - obvious reasons. An embarrassment to WA
Tankers - cheating, filthy club with no morals
Roos - wish they would just go and die
Pies - members are a mob of mentally challenged nuffies
Dees - downhill skiers. Done nothing since I've been alive
Dogs - hated them since the 90's, Libba was a dirty little oxygen thief
Bombers - arrogant members
Hawks - see above

The rest I don't care about.

You said Something about the squad strength,Every team has tanked since the introduction of the salary caps, st kilda geelong brisbane collingwood melbourne and the rest either semi tanked or are just sh*t who would never win a flag unless they follow the system.

Why should we not tank when we come up against teams every year with 2 or 3 superstars that demolishes us who tanked years before????we were robbed of early draft picks for few years for doing something that every other team do and we took it on the chin.Extra salary caps for interstate teams most of the time means 2 or 3 brownlow can be added into their squad, look at collingwood in 2002,2003 grandfinal against brisbane $1 million extra salary caps for the lions meant players like akermanis and black could fit in and every one knows they made the difference especially in 2002.

Look at geelong in 2007-NOW isn't that from tanking in the early 2000's??West coast + sydney The afl golden childs with special Extra drafts or extra salary limits??Even collingwood wining last year flag was helped by few tanking they done in the mid 2000's.

So when every one does it its ok but if carlton follows its called "cheating" right???Your mob and west coast has a first option on a whole state to pick from. Our attitude is what's best for the club and we are not liked the most (arguably) because we don't care what anyone think of us we only think of our club. But maybe you can enlighten me how our attitude towards the opposition, game etc is not good enough and if you refer to the "tanking" or "cheating" reply then please read my post again.

He also embodies all they stand for.

I know a lot of people hate Essendon, but I would probably nominate them as my second fave club. I'm happy to admit they can be complete mongrels (though not of the Bulldogs type, who would be close to my next most disliked club. That 90s team with Libba, and romero were a blight on the game) but I always enjoyed Sheeds left field thinking and observations, James Hird is perhaps the player I most respect from the last 30 years for his skills, courage and decency, and they have a great club ethos.

Ok, here are my posts and here is your reply. Figure it out for yourself. You seem to think that football started sometime around 2000? Carlton have been the top-end-of-town team who have bought players from around the country for as long as I can remember, which is about 40 years. Carlton have always considered themselves above any regulations or laws and always held every other club in contempt due to their being the club of the privileged.. Yes, they copped a bit of come-uppance in the noughties, but their behaviour and attitude goes back to their inception.

2nd Fav- Freo/ Gold coast although i cheered on GC yesterday
Most Hated- Any team that thinks they have a right to play in the AFL, not accepting that it's a priviledge and you have to be responsible for your OWN financial security!

On a side note I love how many people have the eagles as their 2nd fav team. it's only natural that people are drawn to the success of a champion club!!

2nd favourite: Was Fitzroy and still is in a way. My uncle, a huge Roys supporter, passed away on the Thursday night prior to their last ever game against the Dockers. If I had to choose a current club though, I'd say North. Freo, Richmond, and the Dogs all come close though.
Most hated: Hawthorn, closely followed by Collingwood. My dream finals series would be to beat whoever in Week 1, knock off the Pies by a point in the Prelim, before smashing the Hawks in the GF by 10 goals plus, all after topping the ladder. I have an intense dislike (borderline hatred) of Carlton and St. Kilda also.

Goes in ebbs and flows a bit:

2nd Fav would be something like:
Geelong, Bris (it's a long story), Carlton

Don't hate any team really, but if pushed, these days I'd go:
Collingwood then West Coast (usual cross town rivalry stuff, used to hate them with a passion but to tell you the truth I've mellowed out a bit in my old age, constantly beating them in the derbies in recent times helps :D)
