Zac Dawson - Quiet Achiever

His effort in the middle in the last q was fantastic... He held his own in the ruck and then backed it up with a 2nd effort and a kick forward a number of times... Who else did we have after Griff's loss to fill the gaping hole? He Read the play beautifully and left his man to affect the contest when he had to. Late in the 2nd he also had a huge impact however
he did shank his shot at goal and Sonny hit the post after Zac's entry into 50... for me he was the difference.

I think people expect so little from him that he gets a couple of kicks and competes that he is all of a sudden the difference. I would expect nothing less. Walters was the difference and he did it for four quarters, not 10 minutes. Suggesting Dawson was the difference is an insult to about 15 other players and that is the point I am making.

I think people see Dawson's one or two compulsory brain farts a game and ignore how effective he is.
If Johnson was thrown into the ruck I don't think he could have competed as well as Dawson who else would have done the job Silvarni? Oh and in his spare he time he take the oppositions second best forward out weekly.

Zac Dawson = Defender, Ruckman, Forward and Midfielder?

Never been a huge supporter of the guy but holy ******* shit, I am absolutely blown away. Gob Smacked. The man stood up tonight and destroyed it
A latter-day Adam Goodes? :D

Love how he did the team thing when he marked inside 50. Didn't shoot on goal - did the team thing and kicked it to the boundary line for space. ;)

I think you mean the bit where he deliberately fumbled the ball through his legs so the Collingwood guy could dive onto it and he could lay a tackle to get the free kick. Then the excellent 30 metre kick that nobody was expecting.

Jack Riewoldt. Pick 13, 2006.

Fremantle sent Pick 13 and Polak to Richmond for Pick 8. We sent Pick 8 and Medhurst to Collingwood for Tarrant.

Pick 8, 2006 - Ben Reid.

What a monumental ****-up that was.

As bad as using pick #31 on Clayton Collard, while Adelaide used pick 32 on Kurt Tippett.

Imagine Jack Riewoldt and Kurt Tippett on our list. Would make the whole Pitt over Darling talk completely irrelevant.

Or Ben Reid and Kurt Tippett - we'd all be saying, Zac Who?

Breaks my ****ing heart how stupid that all was.
Easy to say in heinsight

Interestingly - we straightened up when he went into the ruck. Hannath was being beaten - he held his own and suddenly we're winning clearances again. It's not like he was needed down back with the plethora of small forwards Collingwood had, so it was a smart tactical move.

Zac was awesome tonight.

Haters gonna hate.

After the game on 6PR he said it was great to get some nice comments for once.
It really disheartens me as a supporter to hear this kind of thing from a player. I definitely feel that Zac is unfairly maligned due to the nature of the position in which he plays (where any mistake will usually directly result in a goal), and the way in which he competes strongly regardless of where he plays and who he plays on is an absolute testament to his character.

Great to see some recognition for his effort.

I thought him going into the middle in the last quarter was the turning point, we were being killed in the clearances by the magpies midfield and we managed to get 2 clearances in a row due to his follow up play after the ruck knock and apply pressure on the pies with the ball in our forward line. His best game for the club by some distance and his interview on 6PR afterwards was brilliant "Should have been 11 goal kickers"

Zac knows kung fu

He went into the ruck against Richmond last year at the MCG after he injured his PCL and wasn't able to run properly and we were already down a rotation because Sandilands was subbed out in the first few minutes. He was out for weeks after that game and we missed him.

Considering how bad our KPP stocks are, to get a hard bodied experienced KPD for nothing in the PSD it really is amazing he constantly gets a hard time on here imo.

Really pisses me off seeing so called supporters slip the knife into him after the way he's been performing of late. Its the fickle own team booers that erode a players confidence and their club loyalty in the first place.

Good on you Zac, you stood up tonight. Special mention above the 15 others because unlike the other 15, pricks sink the boot into you for every error and give little credit for the rest.

after watching the game again, everything he went near turned to gold

his last quarter he had the golden touch
