This is true, but has he polled in losses before?
Yes he has.
He had 19 brownlow votes in 2016 when we won 3 games for the year. He polled in 8 games (3 BOGs and 5 second BOGs).

He polled 2 last year in our loss to Richmond.
With the addition of Caldwell and with Parish spending more time in the midfield, I can see Merrett averaging more than 30 disposals.

This is true, but has he polled in losses before? It just seems his current more "outside" role seems to be reliant on you midfield winning the stoppages. Guess we'll see, but Brownlow aside, the guy is absolute class.

Polled 19 votes in our 2016 season.

Has done alright in losses in following years.

If we play like we did against Geelong for the season we aint finishing bottom 4

In that situation, it's unlikely Merrett leaves.

I'd guess that Merrett leaving is directly related to where and how we finish. If we're a basket-case that finishes bottom 4, he goes, we get a top-5 compo pick. If we don't finish there, he doesn't go.

I agree but this is Dodoro we are a talking about he's always about getting maximum value and winning the trade for Essendon

Bit of a weird comment.

If we finish bottom-4 and Merrett goes for an offer that attracts band 1 compo, I can't see us getting better value in a trade.

Be interesting to see what happens.

Clubs have a couple of days to match and force a trade right? Don't think Dodo will accept the compo pick straight away. He'll be scrambling at trade options for something better if not then accept the compo on the last day

Daniher to Brisbane is a good comparison, doubt we match or bother dragging it out if it's clearly going to be a top-5 compo selection. Dodoro can be difficult when he wants, but plenty of times he gets stuff done quickly when there's no benefit.

He'll likely move to a finals contender, meaning, we get a selection in the teens in a trade. So even if we got 2 x Firsts in a trade, would you prefer (for example) pick 5 or 2 x pick 13?

I'd prefer the 5.

When did he consider Port? all the noise has been Pies and Carlton those two clubs are showing the biggest interest

I think he'll stay things are changing at the club under Truck that Merret is on board with
Money talks

Port has a stack of salary cap space that needs to be used.

Be prepared to be disappointed
