AFL Round 15 Preview: Three Points
Greater Western Sydney v Hawthorn
SPO , 7:25pm AEST Saturday, June 30, 2018
- Eight point game. This is the definition of one. Both sides currently sit less than a game outside the eight. Elimination final in late June.
- Jeremy Cameron. If you were playing for your season what would you do to have him back? Going to be the longest five weeks of his life.
- Return of two rucks a side? Hawthorn have recalled Jonathan Ceglar for just his fourth game in the last two years. GWS bring big Lobb in for Cameron.
Melbourne v St Kilda
MCG , 1:10pm AEST Sunday, July 1, 2018
- Sliding doors moment. These two clubs were seen a being in the same place in their development this time last year. Melbourne are playing for top four now while the Saints are just trying to avoid another spoon.
- Petracca. Hit media street this week and admitted he’s not the sort of player he wanted to be at this stage in his career. Time to walk the walk, Christian.
- Alan Richardson called unheralded defender Jimmy Webster his side’s best player for the year. Time for higher profile players to stand up this weekend.
Fremantle v Brisbane Lions
OS , 2:40pm AWST Sunday, July 1, 2018
- Lions on the road. Brisbane are yet to win a game travelling this season. Taking down Freo at Optus would build a whole lot of confidence for the young side
- The other other Big Cox. Developing Fremantle forward Brennan Cox will be looking to take advantage of an unsettled Brisbane defence in the absence of Harris Andrews.
- Get well soon Harris. Terrible to see such a talented young player at a struggling side sidelined by an opponent. Andrews looked possible to take his first All Australian spot before the Cameron hit that left him with bleeding on the brain.
Essendon v North Melbourne
ES , 3:20pm AEST Sunday, July 1, 2018
- Shaun Higgins. The Bulldogs couldn’t stop him with a hard tag and he averaged 33.3 Disposals, 7.3 Clearances and 1.6 Goals in June. Do the Bombers have an answer?
- Saad and McKenna. Stop their run through the corridor and suddenly Essendon look a whole lot less dangerous. Time for defensive forward Kayne Turner, who has only kicked 3 goals in 13 games, to step up big time.
- Tough to call. North Melbourne’s form seems to be slipping as the Bombers finally find theirs, probably too late though. The last game of the round could be the best.
