Greater Western Sydney v Hawthorn
SPO , 7:25pm AEST Saturday, June 30, 2018

  • The Giants are a massive danger team in September if they can keep their spot in the 8. Greene will be back. Cameron will be book. Even Zac Williams could be back from his Achilles injury. Watch out.
  • Will the Hawks land a big fish this off-season? They need players to go forward with O’Meara and Mitchell. Look thin on top line talent though many do when GWS are firing.
  • Speaking of Tom Mitchell, he is a freak. 50 disposals for the third time in his career. Already twice more than any player ever and he’s only played 101 games.

    Melbourne v St Kilda
    MCG , 1:10pm AEST Sunday, July 1, 2018

  • Melbourne are at some level, perhaps one deep, deep down, still Melbourne. This was one they had to win instead the gave the Saints their third for the season.
  • Jade Gresham has a tantalising mix of talent and athleticism. Massive amount of upside in the kid.

Fremantle v Brisbane Lions
OS , 2:40pm AWST Sunday, July 1, 2018

  • It clicked again for the Lions. Just like it did against the Hawks but this time on foreign soil, really encouraging. Get used to it happening more often.
  • Cam Rayner could be anything. Remember the biggest knock on him was endurance. Inside the AFL system he was always going to flourish.
  • Things could get ugly without Fyfe. Freo fans might be watching the next few weeks from between their fingers.

Essendon v North Melbourne
ES , 3:20pm AEST Sunday, July 1, 2018

  • Footy is still the best sport in the world. Take your State of Origin, take your World Cup, take whatever other sport you want to call football. This game was football.
  • Essendon are making a genuine late charge at finals. 10th to 6th is going to be a real log jam come the end of August.
  • North Melbourne are slipping. Injuries are building and the side is suffering. Scott needs to act fast because the last thing the Roos need is a 9th place finish.
